Edwin

"Gotta go, gotta get the tea, the tea for the surprise..." Edwin rushes his way down the trail through the woods. His mind is racing with the thought of everything that he has planned for her. He was going to see her and everything was going to be right in the world, in his world. He was going to ask her to marry him. "Gotta keep running, can't stop there is no time." His head was racing as fast as his heart was beating. He had never been the type for surprises, however, today was going to be different. All he needed now was to make it to the local market. He had tasked the local herbalist with coming up with the best tea. The perfect mixture of his loves favorite drink, a mix of raspberry, honey, and a hint of vanilla. Everything had to be perfect, there was nothing in this world that could get in his way. Nothing that could stop him from making his life wonderful. "I can't wait till she sees what I have been working on. I feel that it is my best work yet and it was all done for the most important person in my life, Anastasia." He races through the woods with his heart ful of happiness and love. For years, Edwin and Anastasia had been spending every chance they could together. She made his life feel like a fairytale and was the very light he enjoyed seeing. They meet through her father, a high royal who earned his spot and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Edwin was commissioned to make a very special hat for the Lord's wife. With him being the the most talented hatter for miles, Edwin was very honored to receive the order. Edwin started to slow down a bit. His head was hurting and he started to feel a bit sick. "Hmmm, this is weird, I'm not feeling so great." Edwin started to shake a bit as he came to a stop. He started to get a little confused. 'What is wrong with me?' He wondered, he slowly leaned against a tree while holding his head. He wasn't to far from town and he knew that he could go see doctor Percy if he could just make it a bit further. He wanted to close his eyes, he wanted to just go to sleep. "What is happening to me?" Edwin squeezed his head as a sharp pain shot through his head like an icepick. Edwin screamed but no one was around to aid him. The pain last for a few minutes before he was able to think. He knew he needed to keep moving but his legs felt like jelly. "I need to get to the doc, he should be able to help me." Edwin slowly tries to pull himself up but ends up falling instead. He leans against the tree and grabs his head. "Something is wrong, I don't understand what is happening to me." Edwin sight stares to get a bit blurry. "Maybe I should rest here for a bit and it will all go away...." CRACK Edwin opens his eyes to the sound of a stick breaking in the distance. He slowly starts to look around. "Hello? Is someone there?" His eyes dart back and forth, looking for anything that might cause him harm. That's when he sees it, a solid white rabbit with a pink nose and red eyes. They stare at each like they are playing a game when all of a sudden the rabbit hops away, not far however, just far enough that it wasn't super close to him. Edwin slowly stands up. His legs are shaky but he is able to stand. He looks down and wipes his self off. "Well, isn't that a sight to see, I wonder how long I have been here." He looks up to see the rabbit is sitting near the edge of the trial, waiting for him. Edwin slowly makes his way closer to the rabbit. "Hey there little guy, what are you wanting me to do, follow you?" He chuckled to himself, rabbits can't talk and he knew that. He started to feel a little better. He had no idea how long he was laid up against the tree but he knew that he needed it. "I think I will go pay doc a visit, maybe he will be able to give me a quick look over." Edwin made his way to the end of trail and the rabbit started to hop in front of him. With every step Edwin had this feeling like he was forgetting something important. He kept walking and watching the rabbit, it was a beautiful creature and seemed to want Edwin to follow. The air felt crisp and there was a slight chill. "Hmmm, seems that fall is almost here, what would you say friend?" The rabbit stopped, looked at Edwin, shook it's head and then started to hop again. Edwin thought to himself how it seemed like the rabbit was answering him without speaking. It was nice to not be alone. The aching urge that there was suppose to be something important happening today kept weighing on Edwin. "You know, Mister Rabbit, or should I say Miss?" Edwin waited for the rabbit to answer but all that happened was the rabbit stopping and looking at him kind of funny "HAHAHA, oh sir, how sorry I am." Edwin laughed with a gutful laugh. "I'm sorry, I really am but I seem to have lost some marbles in my head it has seem." Edwin rubs the back of his neck and looks up. The rabbit has stopped moving. With a slow turn the rabbit faces Edwin. He sits on his hind legs, looks Edwin in the eyes, uses his front pals to clean his face, then slowly opens his mouth. "Edwin, don't you know? We are all mad here and there is nothing left for you to lose."
