Violet's POV
There was a long silence, Layla and Brenda stood on their spot and had an unbelieving and shocked expression on their faces. Layla moved away from the door and took a seat beside me.
"You are saying that Lucian is your brother?" Layla finally spoke up.
"Stepbrother" Brenda corrected.
"Layla, there's something you don't know about me." I am about to risk it. I would rather she knows that I have changed father four times in three years than she finds out about what happened between Lucian and me.
I glanced at Brenda, and she had an empathetic look on her face, it looked like it was working.
"I... I lied to you."
"About what?"
"My mom doesn't work. She... I ... We leech off rich men". I bowed my head and discreetly rubbed my nose hard to create a pitiful look.
