After the Shadow King vanished, the Forbidden Forest grew eerily calm.
Too calm.
The wind stopped.
The trees froze.
Even the animals hid.
It felt as though the forest was holding its breath.
Zuri leaned on Somadina as they walked, still shaken.
Her entire body trembled—not from weakness, but from the enormous weight of what she had seen.
Somadina brushed dirt from his clothes.
“Zuri… you stood against the Shadow King himself. Most warriors wouldn’t even look him in the eye.”
Zuri didn’t answer.
Her mind replayed the King’s warning, his power, his eyes like burning coals.
“Somadina,” she whispered, “how can I defeat someone like him?”
Somadina didn’t respond immediately. He looked around the forest, thinking.
“Maybe…” he began slowly, “maybe we’re not supposed to fight him alone.”
Zuri frowned. “What do you mean?”
Before he could answer, the ground beneath them began to glow.
A circle of golden light expanded around their feet—soft, warm, protective.
Zuri gasped.
“What’s happening?”
Somadina grabbed his spear and took a defensive stance.
“Stay behind me—”
But instead of danger, voices whispered from the trees.
Soft. Calm. Familiar.
Then figures stepped out of the shadows—
Not monsters.
Not warriors.
People.
Humans.
Dressed in white robes decorated with sun symbols.
Their skin shimmered faintly, as though dusted with golden light.
Zuri’s eyes widened.
“They’re… glowing.”
One of the figures—a tall woman with silver hair braided with beads—stepped forward.
Her voice was gentle.
“Do not be afraid. We are the Lumen Tribe—keepers of the ancient light.”
Zuri felt her heart swell with hope.
“You know about my power?”
The woman nodded.
“More than you can imagine.”
She bowed deeply.
“Sun-Blessed… we have been waiting for you since the first Red Moon.”

THE HIDDEN VILLAGE
The Lumen Tribe guided Zuri and Somadina through a narrow path between giant tree roots.
Light orbs floated above their heads like tiny suns, illuminating their way.
Suddenly, the forest opened up into a hidden valley filled with glowing houses made of stone and crystal. Waterfalls sparkled with golden shimmer. Children played with fireflies that emitted pure white light.
It was beautiful.
Peaceful.
Sacred.
Zuri whispered, “Why didn’t we know this place existed?”
The leader smiled.
“Because it is hidden from darkness. Only light can reveal it.”
They entered the largest hut, lit by a ring of floating sunstones.
Inside, elders wearing robes of gold sat waiting.
One elder leaned forward, eyes sharp but kind.
“Zuri of Amazu… we watched your trials.
You faced your past.
Your pain.
Your destiny.”
Another elder added,
“And you faced the Shadow King himself… and survived.”
Zuri shivered.
“He’s too powerful. How can I defeat him?”
The elders exchanged glances.
The silver-haired leader spoke:
“You cannot defeat him with power alone.
Light is not just energy.
It is balance.
It is understanding.
It is unity.”
Zuri frowned.
“What do you mean?”
A younger member of the tribe stepped forward—
a boy around her age, with skin glowing faintly and eyes bright blue.
“My name is Kain,” he said.
“I will show you.”
He placed a hand on Zuri’s bracelet.
Instantly, Zuri saw visions:
🌅 Ancient Sun-Blesseds training
🌄 The old kings of Amazu calling upon light
🔥 Warriors of light combining their powers
🌑 The Shadow King rising
✨ And a final battle where multiple lights fought together, united
The vision ended.
Kain stepped back.
Zuri stared at him.
“So I’m not supposed to fight alone.”
Kain nodded.
“No Sun-Blessed ever fought alone.
Light is strongest when shared.”
Somadina crossed his arms.
“I’ve been saying that for days.”
The elders smiled.
The leader spoke again:
“Your next trial begins here.
To defeat the Shadow King…
you must first master the Light Within Others.”
Zuri blinked.
“Others?”
“Yes,” the elder said.
“You must learn to awaken light…
not just in yourself—
but in those around you.”
Somadina looked surprised.
“Even me?”
The elder nodded.
“Especially you.”
Zuri felt her courage flicker into something stronger.
Hope.
Real hope.
She looked at Somadina… then at Kain… then at the glowing villagers.
She wasn’t alone anymore.
Her light had found others.
And together…
They could change everything.
