I’m sorry serena

The next day, Serena finally woke up, feeling better. She looked around, waiting for the nurse to arrive and remove the drip strips from her wrist. As if on cue, the nurse entered, examined Serena, and smiled. "You're a strong girl, a very strong one. Nobody would survive that." Serena's curiosity got the better of her. "What happened to me? All I remember is being in my room, and then everything went dark." The nurse explained, "Sir Jacob brought you here. You were poisoned with snake venom." Serena's eyes widened, and she asked, "Where is he?" The nurse replied, "I don't know." Serena's eagerness to leave the hospital grew. "Please, make it quick. I want to leave here so badly." The nurse nodded, removed the drip strips, and helped Serena stand up. "Come with me to the lab, and I'll show you your test results and medicine prescription." Just as they were about to leave, Jacob appeared. Serena walked past him, following the nurse. Jacob smirked, trailing behind them. A few hours later, Serena returned to the Wayland mansion. Ma Ruth rushed to hug her, tearfully exclaiming, "Serena, I was worried sick about you!" Lucy, who had been expecting Serena to be dead, was shocked to see her alive. Jacob asked Ma Ruth, "Do you think she did this?" Ma Ruth vehemently defended Serena, "Serena would never do something like that to hurt anyone. She tasted the food because she wasn't the one who poisoned it!" Lucy, feeling uncomfortable, tried to slip away unnoticed. However, Jacob stopped her. "Wait! You tried to kill Serena!" Lucy froze, denying the accusation, "Sir Jacob, no!" Jacob's expression turned stern. "Lie to me one more time, and you'll be in jail for the rest of your life." Lucy trembled, reiterating her denial. "Sir, I swear I didn't do it." Jacob's eyes narrowed. "Come to think of it, if Serena did this, she wouldn't have tasted the food. She would have refused it. She tasted a food that she was so sure she didn't poison. If she poisoned it, she wouldn't have agreed. And you've tried to hurt her so many times. Now, tell me the truth, Lucy. I'm not joking." Lucy smirked, still denying the accusation. "I didn't. Why would I lie about something this big? I saw her mixing something into the food, so I knew something was fishy." Lucy pleaded, "Sir, trust me, I didn't." Jacob revealed, "I found out Dad had a hidden camera here in this house." Serena's eyes widened as she looked at Ma Ruth, who smiled knowingly. "Really? Where is it?" Jacob went upstairs, grabbed his laptop, and returned. He connected the USB to his laptop and played the footage. Ma Ruth watched in shock as the video showed Lucy mixing a potion into the meal Serena had prepared. The room fell silent, with all eyes on Lucy. Lucy's face turned pale as she stuttered, "I swear, I promise that's fake. Serena is just trying to frame me." Jacob smirked, "You'd be a billionaire if you got paid for lying. You lie so well, Lucy. We just watched a video of you mixing something into the meal Serena made, and you're still lying." Serena walked slowly towards Lucy, her eyes blazing with anger. She slapped Lucy, demanding, "You tried to kill me, Lucy? What have I done to you, that you hate me this much? Huh? Answer me?" Lucy smirked, "Enough now, Serena. I didn't do it. Why are you lying? Can you cut the game off? You just want to get me in trouble." Jacob intervened, "Ma Ruth, me, Serena – none of us knew there was a hidden camera. I asked Dad if he wanted to fix a camera in the house, it's too big not to have one. Then he told me there was one here already. That's how I knew. So, how would Serena know about the camera and change everything?" Jacob pulled out his phone, saying, "I'm calling the police right now." Lucy fell to her knees, grasping Jacob's feet as she begged, "Sir Jacob, I'm sorry! Please don't call the cops on me, please. I was wrong; I just wanted Serena out of the way. I'm sorry." Jacob's expression remained unyielding. "It's too late to confess to us; you should do that in prison." Serena intervened, "Jacob, you can just fire her from the job. I don't think it's a good idea for her to go to prison for this small thing. Jacob's voice rose in anger. "Small thing? Did you call poison a small thing? Huh? She tried to kill you, you dummy. and you're saying I shouldn't get her arrested. She's going to make a lot of friends in jail." Lucy's cries grew louder, more desperate. "Please, Ma Ruth, talk to him; he might listen to you." Ma Ruth shook her head, her expression stern. "There's nothing I can say to this, Lucy. You brought this upon yourself." Ma Ruth sat down beside Serena, a show of solidarity. Soon, the police arrived, and they took Lucy away, her cries echoing through the hallway. "Please don't let them take me, Serena! Please, I'm sorry!" Jacob's smirk returned. "Foolish girl." Serena said, "I'm so hungry, Ma Ruth. My belly is so empty." Jacob offered, "I will make you something to eat." Before Serena could respond, Jacob headed to the kitchen. Ma Ruth said, "Serena, I know you're mad at Jacob. I know! You won't blame him, though; he doesn't know how to react in that kind of situation." Serena replied, "Yes, I know, but he should have trusted me and defended me." Ma Ruth cautioned, "Then all of us would have been dead." Serena's heart ached at the thought. She looked at Ma Ruth and said, "I'll go assist him, because I know he doesn't know how to cook anything." Ma Ruth smiled, "Okay, my child." Serena entered the kitchen to find Jacob struggling. She smiled, "Why say you want to make me something to eat when you don't know how to cook?" Jacob smirked, "Just hold on; I'll make a very delicious meal for you." Serena teased, "I'm waiting. Umm, let me taste." Jacob fed her a spoonful, and Serena's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, Jacob? This is nice! The food looks scary, but it's tasty." She laughed. Jacob gazed at her, relieved, and said, "I was scared!" Serena replied, "I don't want to talk about that." As she turned to walk away, Jacob grabbed her hand, pulling her back. Serena protested, "What are you doing? Let go of me." Jacob apologized, "I'm sorry, Serena. I'm sorry." Serena's heart melted at his words. "It's okay; the good thing is I'm okay." Jacob asked, "Am I forgiven? Serena smiled, "Yes, sure." She then asked, "Umm, before all this happened, you were mad at me for no reason. What happened? What did I do?" Jacob hesitated, "That... umm... maybe I was in a bad mood." Serena raised an eyebrow. "Really? That didn't look like a bad mood. It was as if you were mad about something I did." Jacob evaded the question, saying, "Can we focus on the food now, please?"
