Alina's POV The phone screen illuminated my face in the darkness of the bedroom, casting eerie shadows across the walls. 1:17 AM, the digital clock on the nightstand read. I wondered who it could be by that time. My fever had broken hours ago, but sleep remained elusive, and that was only because I couldn't get Lila’s visit off my mind.
