Vera POV I eventually told Melina that we were heading to Italy to stay with Silas, and her joy only grew when he mentioned our upcoming marriage. As we boarded the plane for Italy, Melina drifted off to sleep in my lap, while Silas sat beside me, his eyes fixed on me for the entire flight. Upon landing, Melina woke up, and I carried her to a large black car, where she snuggled close to me in the absence of a child seat. Her innocent, sweet expressions as she gazed out the window during our drive through Italy provided a comforting distraction from our overwhelming circumstances. "Mommy, can we go to the water today?" she pleaded. "Not right now, Melina. We're going to meet your father's family," I said, casting a resentful glance at Silas. "Okay," she pouted, but her mood brightened as Silas's house came into view. "Mommy, look, it's a castle!" she squealed, making a few of us laugh as she bounced in her seat. "This is our home, princess," Silas told Melina, and she became even more excited. As we drove through the gates and reached the front, I saw a few familiar people, and Melina became scared. "It's okay, love," I said as she held onto my jacket. Silas's men opened the car door for us, and we walked toward them . "Oh, she is so beautiful," Grace had said, and Melina got scared and hid behind me. "Melina, this is your grandparents, Nathaniel and Grace, and your aunt Aurora and uncle Lucas," Silas said. Then Melina emerged from behind me and stared at them. I reassured her that it was okay, and she ran to her grandmother. Melina's grandmother, Grace, knelt down and embraced her tightly. "Oh, my dear sweet girl, you're just as beautiful as your mother," she said, her eyes brimming with tears. Melina looked at Grace with a mixture of shyness and curiosity, but she seemed to relax in her grandmother's embrace. "Thank you," she whispered softly. As the rest of Silas's family welcomed us, it became evident that they were genuinely excited to meet Melina. Despite my initial apprehension, seeing the warmth and affection in their eyes put me at ease for now. Aurora, Silas's sister, knelt down next to Melina and presented her with a small, intricately wrapped gift. "This is for you, sweetheart. We've been looking forward to meeting you for so long," she said with a warm smile. Melina's eyes lit up as she unwrapped the present to reveal a beautiful handmade doll. "Thank you, Aunt Aurora!" she exclaimed, hugging the doll tightly. We were all gathered in the dining room, enjoying the meal that Grace had prepared for us. While Melina had adapted quickly to the family, I found it hard to trust them. "Vera, Silas has informed us that you will be staying and your upcoming marriage. I am just glad that your home and congrats." Grace said, as Silas hand resting on my thigh and giving a slight squeeze. "Thank you,Grace" I replied, picking at my food. The evening was going smoothly until Melina excitedly asked, "Can Don come to the wedding?" "Who is Don?" Silas barked, squeezing my thigh even harder. Oh shit Suddenly, Silas pulled me out of the dining room, gripping my wrist so tightly that I was sure it would leave a bruise. "Silas, let me go," I pleaded, but he ignored me, leading me to a certain room and pushing me inside before closing the door. "What's wrong with—" I started, but Silas interrupted me by crushing his lips onto mine and forcing his tongue into my throat. I struggled to push him away, but it was like pushing against a solid wall when he is really pissed. Soon, he led us to the bed, where he touched me my covered c**t, causing me to moan. "You are mine, amore. Say it. Say that you are mine," he demanded, rubbing even harder. " f**k you " I choked, feeling close to climaxing, but then he abruptly stopped and walked out, leaving me in a state of distress. Fucking d**k I made my way back to the living room, where Melina was with the Kings and Silas. As soon as she saw me, she rushed over, clutching her favorite doll. "Mommy, Daddy said that he has a room for me. Can we go see it?" she asked eagerly. "Of course, we can," I replied. We all walked up the stairs and headed to the bedrooms. Silas opened a particular door, and Melina's eyes widened with delight as she entered the room. "It's so pretty!" she exclaimed, running around and examining everything. "I'm glad you love it, amore," Silas said as Melina hugged him. Then she took her grandma's hand, leading her to a playpen filled with toys. As time passed, Melina fell asleep, and I tucked her into bed before we all left her sleeping peacefully. "We're going to bed. It's nice to have you and Melina here with us, and congrats again," Grace said as they headed to their room. "Good night, you guys," Aurora added as she took Lucas to their room. I intended to return to Melina's new room, but Silas stopped me before I could reach the door. "Where are you going?" he asked. "I'm going to sleep with Melina," I replied, pulling my hand away from him. "You are my wife, Vera. Husbands and wives share the same room," he insisted. "First off, I'm not your wife yet, as we haven't even gotten married. And second, I will never sleep in the same room as you," I told him firmly before entering the room and shutting the door behind me. He stood for a moment, then left. I went to Melina, who was sleeping peacefully with her doll, and got into bed with her, finding comfort in her innocent slumber. I found myself staring at the blank expanse of the white ceiling, lost in thoughts about how today's events had spiraled into chaos and Melina and I's lives were forever changed.
