THE NEXT MORNING, CASEY’S kinder nature won out and she left him asleep while she raced into the water. He didn’t wake up until the smell of coffee roused him, as if on cue. He was as beautiful as ever as he sat up in her bed, shirtless, wrapped in blankets, rubbing his eyes. She brought him a mug of coffee and kissed his nose.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” she teased.
“Have you already been up?” he asked, confused by the cold water dripping from her hair.
“I let you sleep in.” She patted herself on the back.
“Thank you.” He smiled sleepily.
“I have to go open the office, but you can stay here until you wake up. I’ll have time this afternoon when Geller comes in. I have to do some trail maintenance around the back campsites but then we could go for a hike.”
“Sounds perfect,” he said. “
