Chapter Fifteen

Stella’s POV

I enter the place I have called home my entire life with my mate beside me. He hasn’t let go of my hand since we left the meadow. The feel of his hand in mine is heaven. The tingles that run across my skin at the contact makes my heart soar with joy.

I lead him through the house my fathers built for my mother when she was pregnant with us. They had said that our big family needed the privacy that we wouldn’t get at the packhouse. Our home was almost as large as the main packhouse. The nine of us lived here for the most part, but we each had a room on the fifth floor of the packhouse as well.

I walked up to the third floor which was where the five Alpha children had their respective rooms. Mine was the corner room at the end of the hall. I began feeling nervous, what if he didn’t like my room. I shook away my thoughts and opened the door. Kai walked through the open door and looked around my room with a smile on his handsome face.

“So, this is the room you grew up in?” He asks with an emotion in his eyes I couldn’t decipher. Did he not like it? Was he judging me based off my room?

“Yeah, I mean it’s changed over the years. But this is where I grew up.” I say with some hesitation in my voice.

“Hmmm. So where was it that you sat dreaming of your future mate?” He asked, this time clear in his teasing. My shoulders relaxed at this. I understood now that he wasn’t judging my safe space but admiring the place where his mate has lived.

“Well, that’s a hard one.” I said putting a blank expression on my face. Time to tease you mate.

“Oh yeah? And why’s that Princess?” He asks with a raised eyebrow. “Did you not dream about me?” He adds with a pout.

“Oh, I dreamed about you. It’s hard to say where since I was always thinking of you. Who you would be. What you would be like. What it would mean for me and my family.” I say while walking slowly around my room.

“And?” He says snapping me out of my reprieve, my eyes snapping to his.

“And what?” I ask confused.

“What have you come to know of your actual mate love?” He says with a worried smile, making me look at him with a bright smile.

“Hmm, I have come to know that he is going to be an amazing Alpha. He’s quite the jealous and possessive type.” I say with a giggle.

“He is kind. Protective. Ah yes, very protective. Don’t get me started on how handsome he is. Just looking in his eyes makes my heart skip a beat.” I state honestly, blushing furiously.

“But most importantly, he’s decided to do something that I’m not sure many would do. He’s willing to share the role of Alpha, in order to keep me with my family. For that I will always appreciate him endlessly.” I finish with tears in my eyes.

“He sounds like quite the catch.” Kai says, making me laugh immediately. “But. I don’t think your mate has anything on mine.”

“Oh really? And what is your mate like? Everything you ever hoped for?” I ask nervously.

“No.” He answers flatly, immediately making my heart sink.

“She’s more.”  He says pulling me to him, my breath hitches at his words.

“She’s more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Sweeter than anyone I’ve ever met. The piece of me I never knew I was missing until I looked into those shining silver eyes. She’s pure and utter perfection.” He whispers against my neck.

“Really?” I whisper back, not trusting my voice to speak up.

“Really. I don’t know how I got so lucky.” He says breathlessly.

“Kai?” I whisper making him pull back a bit to look into my eyes, his eyes drift to my lips for a second before looking back up to my eyes.

“Yeah baby?” He says in a gentle tone.

“Kiss me.” I say quietly, but by the happiness radiating off him I know he heard me.

Then with the blink of an eye his lips are on mine. Soft and gentle. My arms instinctively go around his neck and my hands run through his thick hair. His lips feel like home after a long trip away. I feel myself sigh against his lips. His tongue comes out and licks my lips, asking for entrance, which I deny. This makes him growl against my lips. His hands move slowly down my torso, towards my ass. He cups both cheeks and gives them a squeeze, making me gasp which allows him the entrance he was searching for.

Our tongues fight for dominance, but he is quick to win. I moan against his lips. He picks me up, making me wrap my legs around his waist. He pushes me against the wall and continues devouring my lips. Soon when we both need air, he begins trailing butterfly kisses down my jaw and to my…

“Mmmmm” I moan out when he reaches where his mark will soon be placed. The sensation is one I have never felt before. I feel myself become more and more wet; my arousal thick in the air. His chest vibrates, letting out a deep growl.

“f**k. You smell so good baby. But maybe we should stop.” He says with a strained voice. He pushes my legs off him and steadies me on my feet. I lower my head a bit, with my shoulders slumping over.  

“Do you not want me?” I asked, suddenly feeling self-conscious. He gasps slightly and then puts a finger under my chin so that I lift my head to meet his eyes.

“I want you more than I have ever wanted anything. But I don’t want to rush you. I don’t want you to feel pressured. I understand if you want to take your time before we go there.” He says softly with nothing but honesty shining behind each word. Before I can respond and tell him that I was ready. That I wanted him. NOW. My brothers linked me.

‘Stella, dinner.’ Echoed in my mind. Well seems like my family did not want me to have my mate now. With a sigh I look up at a worried Kai. Clearly nervous that he’s upset me. I give him a small smile.

“Dinners ready.” I say and begin walking towards my bedroom door. His hand grabs a hold of my wrist, eyes pleading with me.

“Please believe me. I do want you, Stella!” He says with wide, worried eyes.

“I know Kai. Dinner really is ready though.” I say with a small laugh to lighten the mood.

“Oh okay, sorry I thought you were mad at me and trying to avoid me.” He says with a sheepish smile.

“No, remember you can’t exactly lie to me. I know what you said is true babe. I’m not upset. But just so we’re clear. I want you…Sooner rather than later.” I say with a wink before rushing out of the room without waiting for his reply.

I rush towards the dining room with a smile on my face. Arms come around my waist stopping me right outside the where my family is seated waiting for us.

“It’s not nice to tease an Alpha baby.” Kai growled in my ear.

“It’s not teasing if it’s a promise babe.”  I say back sweetly, earning another growl. “Let’s go eat. You must be starving.” I whisper.

“Oh, I’m famished, but not for what’s on the dinner table.” He says through gritted teeth.

“Come in kids. Stop your flirting and come eat dinner.” Momma shouts from the table, making me wiggle my way out of Kai’s arms. I notice him behind me…adjusting…himself before he comes to sit beside me at the table.

Kai’s POV

This little minx has me sitting at dinner with her family, painfully hard. All I want to do is grab her and ravish that luscious body of hers. Damnit Kai! Think bad thoughts. Old wrinkly men. Shitty diapers. Murdering mate less wolves who want your mate. Finally I feel myself soften little by little.

‘Kai, where are you?’ My father’s voice booms in my head. s**t, I still never told him about Stella or being here with her.

‘I’m at dinner with the Alpha’s of the New Red Moon pack, along with their daughter. My mate.’  I say casually, as if this is an everyday occurrence.

‘Ah yes, your mate. And when were you planning on telling your mother and I about her?’ He questions back.

‘I was planning to today, but then something happened at the school. Then her parents wanted to speak to me. After which Stella asked me to stay. I couldn’t deny her now, could I?’ I answer back smoothly.

‘You’re not coming home tonight?’ He implores.

‘She wants me to stay with her dad.’ I say simply.

‘Very well, and when will we be meeting this young lady?’ My father asks.

‘This weekend. As well as her brothers. Elle said she spoke to you about their proposition?’ I finally say back.

‘I assumed you would agree. It would be good to meet the future Alpha’s who will rule the packs alongside you. Sounds like a plan. See you tomorrow.’ He responds with a smile in his voice.

‘See you later pops.’ I end the link and notice that everyone is finished eating, at this point partaking in idle small talk about their lives…until.

“I don’t care Stella; he needs to die.” He growls out outraged, leaving me confused – s**t what did I miss.

“Angel you are too forgiving. That can be dangerous.” Nick says in a softer tone, in which Stella just lets out a huff.

“Just exile him from the pack, why do you need to kill him?” Stella says in an annoyed yet pleading tone.

“Princess he would come back for you.” Teo growls lowly, at that I growl. Who would come back for her?!

“WHO?” I say through gritted teeth and a clenched jaw.

“Chris. Or Mr. Blake. Stella thinks we should let him go after what we learned today.” Leo says calmly.

“What? Baby, he admitted to being a part of his brother’s plan. That their plan was to forcefully make you, their mate. How could you think it safe to let him go?” I ask as softly as I could, but the growl vibrating my chest thanks to Mav was unavoidable.

“I can’t be responsible for someone else’s death! I can’t!” She shouts in a panic. “How many people are you guys going to kill because of ME?”

“As many as it takes for these bastards to understand you are not to be targeted. You are not to be threatened. Not to be looked at or spoken to in a way that is despicable!” Luca growls out but I could see his wolf was in the forefront of his mind. That was not Luca talking that was his wolf, both Elle and Stella sigh.

“Papa Coley. We can’t just kill someone for looking at me or disrespecting me.” Stella says calmly.

“Why the f**k not?” He grits out.

“Because!” Stella yells but with no argument following.

“Stella, honey. I’m sorry but this time your fathers and brothers, oh and your mate are right.” Elle says with a frown.

“What? Momma you can’t be serious!” Stella says shocked.

“Honey we have made the mistake of giving someone a second chance in the past to let go of their obsession with me. It ended up with me being stabbed while pregnant with the five of you. Yes, I was able to win that battle and the person involved didn’t receive another chance. But it could have all been avoided. IF I had listened to Papa and Dads warning. This man is just as deranged as his brother, and he will not stop coming for you. Not until one of you is hurt or dead. I’ve seen this play out in many ways, but the only way you stay safe and unharmed is if he dies…Now.” Elle explains in her calm voice.

“And if we let him go, what would happen?” Stella questions nervously.

“Trust me baby, you don’t want to know. And I as your mother NEVER want to see that happen for real.” Elle says with a growl at the end, which only rattles my nerves. What had she seen? What would happen to my mate?

“Baby, I don’t want to find out what your mother is referring to. He dies. End of story.” I say looking into her teary eyes, a gasp leaves her lips when she meets her mother’s eyes.

“STOP! I don’t want to see anymore!!” Stella screams, shaking uncontrollably. I grab her and pull her into my lap. “Momma! Okay. Okay. Please…just I don’t want to know anymore.” She whimpers.

“What? What did you show her?” I ask anxiously and then my mind is snapped into a damp hole.

I look around and all I see is darkness. Then…then I hear an ear curdling scream. Stella! I run towards my mate’s scream. There in a dirty cell is my mate laying battered and bloodied. A man is hovering over her with a sadistic smile. He rips her torn pants off her body and then her underwear.

I try to reach him to pull him off her. To stop him, but I’m glued to my spot. I can’t move, all I can do is watch in horror as he slams into the place where only I should ever be. He starts to r**e her. MY MATE! She begs him to stop. Tries pushing him off but her hands are restrained with silver. Before I can see anything else I’m snapped back into the room we were eating in. My mate safe in my arms.

I look at Elle with wide eyes. “Is that what you just showed her?” I ask in a whisper, looking down at my shaken mate who is holding onto my shirt with a firm grip.

“No, I showed her what was happening before that.” Elle says with tears in her eyes. Her mates’ eyes are black, as well as Stella’s brothers’ eyes. They’ve seen everything both Stella and I had. And they are just as angry as me.

“KILL HIM. NOW!” I growl. “Actually no. Let me kill him!” I add angrily. How dare he think to do that to my mate. She’s, my angel. How could anyone even think to hurt her in that way. A monster. One who needs to be ridden from this world.

“Please Kai. Please kill him. I think it only gets worse from what I saw. By the look on your face, it does, doesn’t it?” Stella says with a quiver in her voice.

“Believe me when I say, baby you really don’t want to know.” I say kissing the top of her head.

“Okay. Okay everyone. Please do it. Now.” She whispers.

“Will you be okay if I leave you with your mom?” I ask gently, stroking her cheek.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine. Go ahead.” She says and kisses me gently on the lips.

“Lead the way Alpha’s.” I say looking at the seven intimidating men in front of me. They each give me a nod and lead me to the dungeons. This piece of s**t won’t be seeing the sun come up tomorrow.
