Chapter Eighteen

Stella’s POV

I woke up to tingles spreading across my waist, where a pair of strong arms were holding me tightly. I felt my cheeks burn at the memory of last night. Kai and I mated and marked each other. People weren’t lying when they said it was impossible to resist the urge to mate after finding the other half of your soul.

I felt complete and utter bliss in that moment along with this morning. I slowly turned my body trying not to wake Kai, finally after many attempts I managed to turn around to face him. His face held a content smile and he looked so relaxed. I took that moment to truly admire the gift the Moon Goddess gave me.

His strong jaw that looked like it could cut through glass. The bronze tan that covered his skin. His annoyingly long and perfect eyelashes that any woman would kill for. His red, plump lips that are begging me to kiss. A dreamy sigh escaped my lips. He was gorgeous and mine! Well, ours, he was Belle’s mate too.

‘Wow and I didn’t even have to correct you myself! That’s why you’re my favorite.’ Belle murmured in my mind; I couldn’t help but laugh at her words.

‘You do realize we’re technically the same person, by saying I’m your favorite you’re basically calling yourself your favorite.’ I laughed.

‘Eh, we’re the same but different. I would never wish for any other human to be my counterpart little one.’ She cooed in my mind.

‘Aw, I love you Belle!’ I said smiling.

‘Love you too!’ She yipped.

“Good morning my love. What are you smiling about?” Kai’s husky voice broke me from my mind link with Belle, his voice was thick with sleep still. And f**k if that didn’t make him sound even sexier. “Hmmm, so you find my sleepy voice sexy, huh?” He said smirking.

Shit. I forgot that now that we’ve marked each other we could hear the other’s thoughts. Great! Now he’ll be able to hear all the embarrassing thoughts that go through my mind daily. He’s going to think his mates a complete weirdo.

“How could I ever think you’re a weirdo?” He said with a small laugh, looking at me with a silly smile.

“Okay, Stop! No more looking in my head.” I said sternly, with a pout.

“Then how will I know what’s going on in the beautiful head of yours?” His teasing does NOT go unnoticed, making me pout even more. “Don’t pout love. It’s doing things to me, and we have to get up for school.” He says with darkened eyes. I immediately stop pouting, kiss his lips quickly and jump out of bed.

“Uh, right. Let’s get ready. Do you need clothes? I can get some from my brothers.” I say feeling nervous suddenly.

“Yeah, that would be great.” He says smiling, but his eyes are not on my face. They’re traveling all over my body and that’s when I realize I’m completely naked. s**t. I move back to the bed to grab the sheets, but his hand grabs my wrist stopping me. “And what do you think you’re doing?” He asks with a disapproving growl.

“Uh, I-I was just going to…” I stutter out with wide and embarrassed eyes.

“Going to what? Hide that perfect little body from me, hmmm?” He says with a look I couldn’t decipher; his eyes were boring into me.

“Yes!” I squeaked out nervously.

“Why would you do that?” He asks with a frown. “You weren’t hiding from me last night when I was-” I cut him off with my hand over his mouth.

“That was different Kai! We were in the moment.” I say, my cheeks felt like they were on fire.

“I don’t care. This body is mine to look at and you won’t hide from me. You never have to hide it from me. Okay baby?” He says with a look full of admiration, while he gently strokes by cheeks.

“Okay.” I say, letting the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding out.

“Okay what?” He asks with a sly smirk and raises an eyebrow.

“Okay, Alpha.” I purr kissing him again on the lips once, twice and three times before pulling away. “We really should start getting ready babe.” I finally say with a frown, hating the idea of being anywhere other than in this bed with my mate.

‘Guys, can one of you bring me something for Kai to wear today?’ I ask in the link with my brothers.

‘Sure, Stells, I’ll bring it there now.’ Theo is the one to answer.

“Theo’s coming with clothes.” I say just as a knock comes from my door.

I pull on my robe and open the door to reveal a very nervous looking Theo. He looks as if he was up all night.

“What’s wrong?!”  I ask quickly and notice the mark on his neck, just has he notices the one on mine.

“Wow, marked and mated I see.” He says with a genuinely happy smile, but his eyes still hold the same turmoil I noticed when I opened the door.

“Yeah, I can see you’re marked and mated as well. So, why do you look so upset Theo?! What. Happened?” I ask as calmly as possible, the idea of any of my brothers upset hurts on a level I can’t begin to explain.

Kai must sense the nerves rising inside me and is beside me in seconds.

“Baby, what’s wrong? Why are you so upset?!” Kai asks looking me over, looking for what I’m not sure. I ignore him and keep my eyes trained on Theo, who lets out a weary breath.

“You know how when you guys marked each other you could see what your mate has been doing up until that point?” Theo asks cautiously.

“Yeah, and?” I say confused and then it dawned on me. Teo’s playboy past. I TOLD HIM THIS WOULD HAPPEN! “f**k, she’s pissed at Teo isn’t she?” I didn’t even have to ask, I knew if it were me I’d be pissed too.

“She kicked him out of the room last night. Wouldn’t let him touch her after. She cried herself to sleep in my arms. It was torture seeing her like that, but it was just as bad sensing Teo’s turmoil. His guilt, anger at himself. I don’t know where he is. After she fell asleep, I tried to find him, but I couldn’t.” Theo says, tears shining in his eyes.

“I think I know where he is, let me get dressed and I’ll go talk to him.” I say with a reassuring smile.

“Could you? You’re the only one who will be able to get through to him when he’s like this.” Theo says finally smiling.

“Yeah, you go take care of your mate and I’ll take care of Teo. I promise. We’ll meet you at school.” I tell him and with that he hands me the clothes for Kai before heading back to his room.

“I can go with you.” Kai says after we both dress and got ready for school. I gave him a smile but shook my head.

“I appreciate that babe, but when Teo’s like this…well, I just need to talk to him alone. You can head to school, and I’ll meet you there.” I tell him before giving him a short kiss.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to wait for you?” He says with a hopeful look, I know he’s hating the idea of being away from me, but I need to do this alone.

“You can’t miss anymore class babe. I promise I’ll be with you as soon as I can.” I say to assure him that I won’t be long, he nods and gives me a kiss before heading out of the house.

Whenever Teo is really upset there’s only one place he goes. I grab him a pair of clothes to change into for school, put his backpack in my care and head towards our secret spot. It’s a meadow where him and I always go when we’re feeling lost or upset. We found it when we were kids and promised it would always be our special spot to go when we needed the other.

I’m close to all my brothers. Each of them has a special role in my life, and I in theirs. Each of us has a spot we go to when we need the other. This meadow is Teo and mine. I walk the five minutes it takes to get there and spot him right away. His shoulders are slumped over in defeat, and I can see him clenching and unclenching his fists. Once he senses me, I see him relax slightly, as if he had been waiting for me.

“Stelly, you came.” He whispers so softly that had I been human I wouldn’t hear him. My strong and fearless brother sounded so broken, making my heart clench in immense pain for him.

“I’ll always come when you need me Teo!” I say, rushing to his side and engulfing him in a hug.

“I f**k up bad, real bad angel. She hates me!” He says eyes wide and bloodshot.

“She can’t hate you, bub, she’s just disappointed and hurt. Give her some time and then show her she’s different from all those other girls.” I say in a soothing voice that I know will calm him.

“I’m such a f*****g i***t. Why couldn’t I be like Theo and wait. Now she’s going to think he’s the perfect mate and I’m an asshole.” His voice is breaking my heart, his words shatter me.

“You are NOT an asshole! And Theo isn’t perfect either. So, he waited for his mate, that doesn’t mean he loves her any more than you do! Teo, I know you, when you love someone, you do it with your whole heart. I have always been surrounded by love because of you guys. She’s lucky to have you as a mate! Yes, you made mistakes but you’re a hormonal Alpha. You’re not the first to not wait for his mate and you won’t be the last. She’ll get over it.” I say giving him my signature comforting smile that I know always works on him. He eventually smiles back at me, squeezing me in a loving hug.

“What would I ever do without you, my angel? I’d probably go insane. I love you baby girl.” He says kissing the side of my head. We slowly stand up.

“I brought you clothes for school. Your stuff is already in my car waiting for you. Get dressed and let’s go get your girl back!” I say encouragingly.

“I like that plan!” He says finally showing me the Teo I know and love. “Thanks for coming Stells.”

“Whenever you need me, you know I will always be there. No matter what!” I say earnestly. He looks at me adoringly and immediately notices the mark on my neck finally, his eyes widen instantly.

“You’re marked?” He says shocked and sniffs the air, “And, mated!”

“Uh, yeah. Belle and I kind of couldn’t help it. Once we were alone with Kai, it was kind of too much to suppress our nature.” I say with a blush covering my cheeks.

“If you’re happy, I’m happy.” He says hugging me.

“I am! Happy, I mean.” I say with an excited smile. “Now let’s go so I can see my big brother happy!”

“Right, you head to the car and let me change really quick and then we can head out.” He says smiling, I nod before walking back the way I came.

After a few minutes my passenger door opened and Teo sat beside me. His eyes look less sad and held determination in them. If I know my brother, I know he won’t stop until he has his mate back in his arms. He won’t stop until she forgives him and understands she’s the only girl for him.

By the time we pull up to the school the parking lot is empty of students, them all being in their first period classes. I pull into my usual spot and shoot a look over at Teo who nods his head showing he’s ready.

“If anyone can win their mate back, it’s you. She has until lunch to go through things in her head, and then you pull her aside and remind her that at the end of the day she’s your mate NOT those other girls.” I say supportively.

With that we got out of my car and headed inside towards first period. My wolf and I were itching to see Kai. We’ve only been away from each other for an hour and already I can’t wait to see him again. I open the doors to first period and his eyes immediately meet mine. His face breaks out in a huge smile and his shoulders relax at the sight of me. I quickly find a seat beside him and give him a quick kiss.

“Nice of you to finally join us.” The woman taking over Mr. Blake’s class spits out scornfully towards me. While Teo and I both arrived at the same time, her glare is only aimed at me.

“We had an urgent matter to take care at the pack house. Mind your tone when speaking to her!” Teo growled at her, she stiffened in her spot. She shot me one last glare.

“Let’s just continue shall we.” She says in a sickly-sweet voice looking at Teo now with a fake smile. I wanted to punch her. I really wanted to, but I ignored her once I felt sparks on my thigh. Kai gave my thigh a gentle squeeze.

‘Ignore her love.’ Kai’s voice rang in my mind, putting me at ease.

Damn the mate bond was magical.
