Chapter Four

811 Words
So far, Hill Crest High hadn't been so bad for Hannah, except maybe the ugly vice principal, who glared at her like she'd just broke into his million dollar safe. The principal, however, had been kind. Hannah arrived thirty minutes late to school, but the nice looking lady conveniently ignored that. She instead smiled broadly as Hannah walked into her office. "You must be Hannah Hoffman." She extended her hand for a handshake, and Hannah took it. "I'm Principal Wren. We're glad you're here." "Not exactly." Hannah shifted her attention to the man standing beside her, who had just spoken. "Diego." Principal Wren warned, before smiling sweetly again at Hannah. "Hannah, meet Mr Black, the vice principal." "How 'you doing?" Hannah cheerfully asked Mr Black, not because she cared, but because she knew it would annoy him. She was right; his glare deepened, making him appear uglier. "Hannah," Principal Wren drew back Hannah's attention to herself. "I've gone through your file, and I believe who can do exceedingly well. You're a smart kid, and I hope you can utilize the potentials you posses to excel." Hannah shrugged. "I'll do my best." "Wonderful! Here's your class schedule and locker combination. I've appointed one of our nicest student to give you a tour. She should be here any minute... Molly! There you are!" Hannah turned around to see a petite red haired girl standing at the door. She was a bit curvy, and pretty, but not in an extraordinary way. Molly walked into the office, and greeted. "Good morning Principal Wren, good morning Mr Black." She then turned to Hannah and waved. "Hi." "Hey." "Morning Molly." Principal Wren replied. "Please take our new student on the tour." Molly gestured to Hannah to follow her out, and together, the two left the office. Principal Wren hadn't been kidding when she said Molly was the nicest. Molly didn't act snobbish or rude, even when Hannah asked really annoying questions. Even better, she didn't ask personal questions that Hannah would prefer not to answer, or questions that indicated she was being judgmental. Molly even complemented Hannah's tattoos, calling them artistic. Hell yes they were! Hannah had spent a tiny fortune on them. By the end of the tour, Hannah had decided she liked Molly, which was rare. Hannah almost never genuinely liked a person. Molly had escorted Hannah to her class, before leaving for hers. The reaction of others weren't so much like Molly's. Student either gawked or snickered when Hannah walked in, and teachers tried their best to maintain their cool. One teacher had completely lost it when she strolled in, 15 minutes behind time. "And that's... Oh my goodness!" The woman expressed her shock, but quickly composed herself. She gave Hannah a polite smile that was obviously fake. "That is... A lot of tattoos you have there darling. Take a seat." Hannah immediately marked the woman as someone she won't get along with. The remaining periods had been uneventful, and Hannah stood in front of her locker during lunch break, grateful for a break. She was waiting for Molly, who had earlier invited Hannah to sit at her table in the cafeteria. Hannah was arranging her locker, when she felt a presence behind her locker's door. She slammed it shut, finding not Molly, but a boy. The first thing she noticed about him was that he was very good looking. His blond hair looked like it hadn't visited a barber's shop in a long time, but it suited him. He was taller than Hannah, and considering she was tall, he had to be very tall. Hannah looked up into his crystal blue eyes, and her gaze mistakenly fell to his cherry pink lips. She observed the beauty spot over the right side of his upper lip, which made his lips more interesting. That's one hot guy. Hannah thought. But wait, why's he here? Hannah forced herself to return her gaze back to his eyes. That's when she noticed he was smirking, apparently pleased that she had been checking him out. Hannah felt her cheeks heat up, but not with embarrassment, but anger at herself for being so vulnerable. "Yes?" She asked curtly. He shrugged. "Just wanted to make sure the new pretty transfer student felt at home." Hannah remembered that she forgot to drop a book in her locker and opened it back up. "Well I'm good. You can leave now." She said, as she busied herself. "Are you sure?" He asked, with an eyebrow raised and hands in his pocket. "I'm sure." Hannah saw Molly approaching and advanced towards her. "And don't stand by peoples locker like that. It's creepy." Hannah heard the handsome boy chuckle, but restrained herself from turning back. Teaser : Hannah is put in the spotlight in front of the entire school at the cafeteria, during the Midday Games.
