Did I just ask her out ? Did she just agree ? Oh God what if she thinks that I asked as her friend .Oh God she's gonna friend zone me isn't she ?But then I think what if I'm not friend zoned if we actually go on a date and if it goes well then I'd kiss her and she'd kiss me back and maybe we would not just stop there and get lost in fantasies that sound too good to be true. These are the thoughts running through my mind since I left Liam's last night . and all through the morning and even on my way to my lawyer office. I am currently waiting for my lawyer to show up to the damn meeting .
" Alec I didn't know we had a meeting " says Harvey
" We do now " he nods and sits in the couch opposite mine .
"Did you know ?" I ask
" No "
" You're a shitty lawyer then ,you're supposed to know when someone does underhanded s**t to your client's contract ! "
"And you should read before signing or at least call your 'shitty lawyer ' before signing s**t "
" what do you mean I did the read contract before signing it . I'm not an i***t and you were there when we signed it "
" no I wasn't, I was in Boston a week

" yeah that's what the date said on the agreement "

" okay that's great ,you do that one problem aren't you also my grandfather's attorney? "
" I'm not , Jessica is and if you both have no problem and sign a document saying so then we'll be good to go "
" okay , that's good, well I should get going then " I say and get up
" well one more thing , can anyone else corroborate your story ? "
" uh yeah "
" okay tell them to give me a call "
" yeah sure "
I walk out of the office with a hopeful feeling .I get in the car and call Liam
" hello "
"Liam it's me "
"yeah I know I have caller ID "
" we need to talk, you free? "
"No I have to meet my father later just tell me now dude "
"you remember Thanksgiving ? "
"yeah , why ? "
"well I need you to testify in court to the fact that I was very drunk and called

" why ? " and then I told him everything and all got was silence and then Laughter

" ugh I gotta go dude talk later "
and with that he just hangs up . Any way I go into my hotel and my assistant comes up with all the things I need to do today and I get to it .around seven in the evening my assistant comes in .
" Sir , your grandfather is here to see you should I send him in or give him one of your usual ? "
" My usual ?"
" yeah you're with your very nonexistent girlfriend , drunk , sick or very busy conquering the hotels in the east coast and oh being a d**k " she says nonchalantly .
" why didn't I fire you the first time you did that ?"
" because I'm the best "
"yeah right "
" so should send him in or what because if stay here one more second he's gonna think I'm screwing you "
" what's wrong with screwing me ? "
" Everything including the fact that you're not a woman "
" so that's why you won't sleep with me "

She didn't even finish the sentence when my grandfather came in .
" I'm gonna leave " She says mouths 'don't be stupid 'and then leaves closing the door behind her .He walks over and sits on the couch in my office .
I ignore him and continue working .
" Don't you have more pressing matters to deal with ? " He asks
" I am dealing with important matters "
" really I would've thought getting married would be your priority " he says
" No defeating you and your insanely stupid agreement in court is my priority " I snapped .I took a Deep breath and resumed working on whatever it was i was working on cause honestly I don't remember because I've been distracted by the thoughts of a certain very attractive brunette I may or may not have a date with .
" You're pissed " he states and I finally look at him .
" You think ? " I asked
" Just think about why I felt the need to do what I did "
" you want me to think about how you felt ? what about how I feel about the fact that the man who was more of a father to me when my own father was depressed out of his mind ? that the man who actually raised me would now betray me like this ? " I yelled .I actually yelled and I never yelled at him . but that's how mad I am . he sighs and starts to say something but then there's a knock on the door .
" What Susan ?! " I snapped .
" uhh It's not Susan " says a voice I recognize. very well
" uh come in " I say and she walks in with the biggest smile I have ever seen on her
face which wears off when she sees me and looks between me and grandpa and says
" I was going to see if you were free for that drink but I'll come back later " she starts to go but I stop her
" no we're done here anyway .and I could really use a drink " she looks at grandpa and then at me and nods
" Sure okay and we can catch up " she says with a look that's supposed to say what the hell is going on with you . it's a nice feeling to know that I can still read and interpret her crazy expressions . I smile to myself and then look at my grandfather and just follow her out .
" Make sure he leaves " I tell Susan and she just nods and mouths ' tell her ' . I just shake my head at her .
" what ? " Katie asks
" nothing, cupcake " I say she puts an annoyed expression but I can see the smile trying to break through her facade .
looks like somethings never change.

Did he just ask me out on a freaking date ??
No No don't get your hopes up . you'll be devastated when he friend zones you .but what if he doesn't ? These are all the thoughts in my head the entire night .I couldn't even sleep so I wake up early ,have a long shower and head to my office building by 7 :30 am
I'm suprised to find Adriana my President of Acquisition( meaning she's basically incharge of all the new authors we sign and the old ones too .) waiting in my office.
"What are you doing here this early ? " I raise an eyebrow at her .
she just shrugged
" I'm always this early " she replies .
" No ,you're not . you always get in after me and I do not come to work this early "
" which begs the question why are you here ? " she retorts .
" oh no you can't do that , I asked first tell me "
" I don't know if should tell you this " she says
" oh just spit it out "
" IthinkAntoniodosentlovemeanymore" she says really quickly. I mean really fast .Man this chick can speak fast !
" I honestly didn't understand a word you just said " I say leaning back in my chair .
" I think Antonio's having second thoughts "
" about your relationship ? " I ask shocked .and she nods .
" I don't think so Adriana ,he loves you "
" I'm not so sure , but anyways we have bigger fish to fry "

" Most of our authors are jumping ship because as you know we lost a lot of money in the lawsuit against Mrs Knox .and they're worried we might not be able to pay them or fullfill our contracts "

" we need to figure something out " .
" yeah I am working on it " .
I spent the whole day convincing authors and investors alike that we will get out money back .
I just sit down in my chair when Liam comes into my office of course without knocking .
" What are you doing here ? I thought the one upside to you being engaged would be you not constantly annoying me " I say
" did dad call you too ? '' he asks after scowling at me
" You too ? meaning he called you too ? "
" Yeah ."
" when ?"
" just this afternoon , when did he call you ? "

" something happened didn't it ? "
" what no nothing " i say way too quickly and he gives me a look that says 'dont give me that s**t '
" nothing Liam " I say and get up and get my bag and drag out a hysterically laughing Liam .

Liam and I arrived at our house well our family manor where we grew up .now I have my own place and so does Liam.
Going in we are greeted by Sam our father's ..uhh ..I guess butler ( kinda like Carson from Downton Abbey), but DO NOT Tell Sam that cause he'll Kick your ass and then mine for telling you that and I'd kick your ass for getting my ass kicked .So really it's bad outcome for you ,So just shut it .He leads us to our father's Study and escapes .
" Kate ,Liam come sit "my father Blake says .
" so why are we here ? " Liam asks after we've both taken our seats .
" You are engaged " my father's says looking at my brother.
" yeah so ? "
" I want to set up a meeting with our and their lawyers so we can figure out the prenup before the press announcement"
" Why ? "
" Because we need to agree how many shares we give her and how much she brings us "
" you mean you "
" no .."
" yes you do ! God I can't believe you I get engaged to a girl I really love and the first thing you say to me is that you want me to sign a goddamn prenup ?! " Liam explodes ." you what forget it " he says and storms out
" Could have at least saud congratulations first " I speak up and start to get up when he says
" I fired Dustin Sawyer " and my jaw drops to the ground.hes the Ceo of grandmother s company
" soo ? " I ask neutrally even though I am bursting with joy inside.
" I need you to go there for a couple weeks until I find a replacement "

" because we are expanding but I can't handle both CA and London "

" I head to Alec's office in his biggest and first hotel and find him there with grandfather .. arguing ...uh oh ..
but then he smiled and agrees to come with me .So I grab his hand and take him out ." we're using my car " I say and chuckle and nods .and we head to my favourite bar LUX ..
