CHAPTER SEVEN

546 Words
AIDAN POV Part of me regretted agreeing to this wedding, I mean my pack is one of the strongest in the world at over 1,000 strong, but we need a Luna, I need my Luna with her I will reach my full strength with her I will become unstoppable. I am 26 and have not found my destined mate, so it is time to stop waiting for her and do what needs to be done and settle for a chosen mate. Alpha Derrick has a daughter of similar age to me whose mate died in an unprovoked attack by another pack, this caused the Shadow Lake pack to completely eradicate the attackers, there are rumors a few escaped the m******e, and I hope that this is the case as their future Beta was to be my sister’s mate.   He felt the bond when he turned 18, my sister, though at the time was only 16 so she does not know that he was to be her mate. In truth, I would like nothing more than to destroy the Shadow Lake pack but without grounds, the council of elders would have me stripped of my title if not killed.  So, I have agreed to marry their Alpha’s daughter as a way to stop myself from annihilating them whenever I think of what my sister could have had.   I tell my Beta Leo to prepare for the week away, apparently, it is going to be a week of festivities, starting three days before the day of the actual wedding, and going for three more days after. My pack will be left under the care of my father and mother, our previous Alpha and Luna until I return with my bride. I put the offer out to all unmated wolves in my pack to come to the celebrations in hope that they may find their mate. Only ten have decided to come, most if not all the wolves in my pack despise the Shadow Lake pack for the death of my sisters’ future mate, and very few want to risk their mate originating from their pack in case one day I do snap and decide to kill everyone responsible.   I go through everything with my father, ensuring that everything and one will be taken care of while I am away. He can see that I am dreading this wedding, a chosen mate over a destined is rarely a good thing. “Adrian son I admire you for what you are doing for the pack, but are you sure?” he asks “dad, you know as well as I that no matter the size of our pack we aren’t strong without a Luna. I have no choice I have waited eight years to find my destined mate, it’s time to give up the dream and do what is needed.” I reply and with that, we leave my office and head out of the packhouse to the garage.   Leo meets us at the cars where I say goodbye to my old man as I climb in. the drive will take approximately 5 hours, which means I am going to experience 5 hours of teasing from Leo, about my pending nuptials.
