Dead or Alive“Lord, this is all we can carry,” the
mercenary told Ruden.
They had cleared the city of everything they
could find and still, Ruden had not come up with any magical
artifact made by the gods. They did have six sacks full of
treasure. They had taken a king’s ransom in gold and silver coins,
jewelry, gemstones and a few rings Ruden knew were magical.
Ruden saw that one of the rings, in
particular, looked promising. The ring was made of platinum and
gold, both metals intertwined with each other in a braided pattern.
Inside the ring, Elven runes were intricately carved. The
inscription read “Davar din Estavar” which meant “Live long with
me.” Ruden slipped the ring into his robes. He decided this piece
would not be in the haul that he showed his master.
