“I swear, Samson, I swear that I did not know,” Rosa said, her voice this desperate plea, this fragile whisper that trembled with all of her fear. The tears were flowing freely down her cheeks now, each one a drop of despair. Her body was shaking with the force of her emotion, a desperate need to just make him see the truth, to understand, to know that she was not the enemy here.
