Hope's POV There not a lot of moments I can look back on and say that I was content but right now at 2 am in this shitty diner sitting across from my new hot neighbor that just 'rescued' me from what he thinks was my suicide attempt I believe I weirdly am. Do I hate this plot line, yes. Can I change it, no. So I might as well roll with the punches in this one. After the whole thing we walked back to Leo's house to take his car. He blasted some Fleetwood Mac on the way here, not saying a word to me other than the time I asked him why he takes a ride from Cooper if he has a car. He told me that he didn't like to drive that much. Anyways we got here pretty quick and I was thankful, don't get me wrong I love Fleetwood Mac but them featuring Leo was awful to hear. It was so bad I wanted to roll out of the car while it was moving. I almost did, but Leo kept locking my door. Since he was on the driver's side with the control panel, I couldn't help thinking that he had too much power the whole way here. In a way though I’m happy he filled the awkward air with something. Maybe that was his goal all along When we got to the diner, I took in the view. It was retro, but not too flashy on the outside. On the inside though it looked like a typical sixty's diner. painted light blue and white. It also looked a little run down but the overall feel was still the same. No one was in there besides the employees. Since it was two thirty am, we were seated instantly. The waitress gave us menus and wasted no time leaving so we could look it over. I looked up at Leo but back down at my menu. I did this a couple of times until I locked eyes with him. "What?" He said putting on that smirk. "You're being weird, you just saw me on a bridge ledge and you are not asking questions." He stopped smirking and put his hands under his chin as if he was in thought. "Would you like me to ask?" I wanted to roll my eyes and thought he was just toying with me until I saw how genuine he looked. He was serious. There was no joke or sarcasm behind what he said. I huffed out a breath and looked away. Man, he pisses me off. "If you want." "Why were you up there?" His tone was so gentle and soft like he didn't want to break me from asking that simple question. I sat there for a while thinking of my answer all while his eyes never left me and he never started to look impatient either. "I was clearing my head and I swear to you I was just getting down when you came." He nodded just going back to his menu. Not in a rude way like it sounds. I know he wasn't brushing me off, he was just being him I guess. "Do you have any more questions?" I probed, with this he stopped looking at his menu and did that thing wear he makes this unbreakable eye contact that just pierced into me, he opened his mouth to speak but the waitress came back so the serious guy in front of me turned back into the goof he was within mere seconds. This now had me annoyed with the f*****g waitress because I had never seen him like that before. So captivating and dominant. "What do you folks want to drink?" The waitress asked in a high pitched voice that was too annoying to be faking it. I almost let myself visbly cringe. I looked over to Leo to see what his reaction was and he seemed like he wanted to laugh. "I will have a Dr.Pepper," Leo responded with the same grin that never leaves his face now that I think about it since I’ve met him he’s always been like that until a second ago of course. "For you, young lady?" I squinted at the waitress who was only three years older than me at max. "I will have the same but the next time you call me young lady I will fix your vocal cords for you.” She seemed like she was flabbergasted and going to pee her pants. Glad she got the message after that she simply walked away. As soon as she was notability out of earshot, Leo kicked me under the table with his annoying smirk on his face. "What was that for Fretz?" I aggressively whispered. "I know you are mean to everyone and I get why, but don't be mean to people working a minimum wage job trying to do their best." He kept the smile on his face but I knew he was dead serious. This peeved him. This was the closet I had seen him even close to remotely upset. There was nothing I could say to him but, "okay." He smiled even more and there it was that feeling that I got earlier. The waitress brought back our drinks in no time and asked for our meal. She was avoiding making any eye contact with me and I started to feel bad during this whole interaction. She left after a while and I thought about what Leo was going to say earlier. "Hey." He was looking out the window now and he looked so peaceful to just be staring out at the parking lot like that. "Yeah?" His face was now looking towards me with raised brows. Those stupidly captivating green eyes staring into my brown ones. He looked tired but he was still cute. "You were going to ask me something early." I knew he remembered what he was going to ask. There is no way he didn't with the look that he was giving me earlier. "It wasn't important." He looked away from me. "Come on." I groaned. "Look Hope if you're worried about me telling your brother you're fine. I believed you the moment you told me. I just wanted to get food with you, so what I was going to say was not important. Right?" It was the feeling again but, this time I realized what it was. I was turned on by this dominating side of him. That I didn't know he had until this morning. I was intrigued by his nice guy attitude but this side of Leo was something that I knew he tried to keep deep down below that grin. I shook off the thought because maybe I was just thinking too much into it. Before I could express my displeasure with his statement. The waitress came back. Unlike walking away like she normally does she handed Leo a piece of paper. He didn't even bat an eye at it. Was he used to this type of thing I mean with his looks I would understand. "Call me." She said with a smile and he politely smiled back putting the note in his pocket not giving her a definite response. This made me a little angry but I don't know why. "Someone is popular." I said sarcastically. I know the tone in my voice was rude and probably made me sound jealous but I was not jealous. He smiled at me and shook his head. "You said it yourself, I'm cute." He took a bite of his pancakes grinning ear to ear. This cheeky asshole drives me crazy.
