The Family Meeting

2014 Words

Mark's POV I wait anxiously for Gray to get back home. I'm staring at my phone in my hand. I hope that Weston does not lay a hand on her. That is my worry. I should've taken her there myself and back. The necklace that she had been looking for might be meaningless to me, like its nothing. But for her, it can mean so much and I could tell that it did, because it belonged to her mother. I'm in the kitchen, pacing, but then I hear the front door opening. I walk as fast as I could to the lounge. I'm so relieved to see Gray. "I found it." she says, holding it up for me to see the black box. "Are you okay?" I ask, looking at her from head to toe, checking for anything. "Yes, I am." she says as she walks to the kitchen, " I'm just thirsty, its hot outside." she says as I follow after her.
