Lost and Alone

Chapter 3: After School

Zander

She was leaning against a wall waiting for me after classes. Her eyes were red from crying earlier that day.

"Hi, you ready to go?" She asks.

" Yup. I'm ready to go." I say.

We start waking to her house. I can see she is scared to talk about it outside, so I stay silent.

Jennylyn

We arrived at my house, I'm still scared to talk about my secret, but he needs to know the truth. I think I am in love with him. I haven't fallen in love before. It scares me a lot. I open the front door for him and then close it behind him and lock it.

"We can talk now. It isn't just my secret, so I'm going to get my sister real quick." I say.

" Why do you need to get your sister?" Zander asks curiously.

"You will see." I answer mysteriously.

I go upstairs and get my sister Wilma. She was ready to tell him her part of my tragic life. We started to tell him our story, showing him pictures we had managed to take when Mr. Dodge wasn't looking. When we were finished he had this odd expression on his face. It wasn't anger. It was jealousy and rage. After she told the story Wilma snuck silently out of the room.

"So this is why you left his room crying today." he assumes.

"You saw me? I thought no one was paying attention to me." I said.

"I was paying attention to you a lot." He jabbered blushing.

I stare at him confused." But I'm not that interesting." I interject confused.

"You are interesting to me." He offers.

I go over and hug him crying.

"What is wrong?" He asks confused.

"I've just never been told that before." I admit honestly.

Zander

"But you are so beautiful." I say shyly.

I lean over and try to kiss her.

"Don't" she exclaims.

"Why not?" I ask.

" He will hurt you if he finds out about us. I don't want to see you get hurt.You're the only person that cared about me, so I can't lose you." She bawls.

"You won't lose me. I'm willing to fight to be with you. I don't care if he hurts me." I exclaim.

" He can have you expelled and more. He owns this town." She babbles.

"He doesn't own me. I won't just sit because he orders me to sit. I live by my own rules." I asserted.

"So you're willing to risk anything for me?" She asks curiously.

"I'm willing to die for you." I assure her.

Jennylyn

I lean over and kiss him. I know this might get him hurt, and he knows it too but if he is willing to die for me then I should be willing to do the same. In this town nothing has ever been save for me until Zander came to town. Now I not worried about my past or Mr. Dodge. He will protect me from these things as long as he can.

"You will always be safe with me. I'm not like Mr. Dodge. I won't force you to do anything you don't want to." He assures me.

"You may be different but I just can't do more then kiss you this once.. I've been hurt too much." I say calmly.

"I understand." He looks outsides and see the sun setting. "Wow it's late I should head home now." He says sadly.

"Ok bye see you tomorrow." I say.
