In the evening, we had to plan and book our flight back to the USA in the company of some of our parents. Mr. Roberts, Dhruv, Mr. Martins, Mr. Suravi, and Mr. Paul were present in South Korea, while the rest were a little bit held up with errands. You could tell the mood in their eyes. Nina was waiting to receive us at the airport. She heard about the demise of her daughter, Amber Ray, and felt bad about it. She was weak, broken, and dismayed. At the airport, we were shocked to see Uncle Chan Yeol. His eyes were soaked in red; he was bitter that his niece had died after visiting those haunted sites. We wondered where he had gone, but after finding him with his sister Nina, we understood his cause. The silence among us spelled doom. No one spoke to each other. We didn’t know what to say. The least we did was cry for our departed friends. We planned to meet the following day at the cemetery to lay down our friends. It was a dark day for us. We couldn’t decipher that the people we were close to would be six feet under for their longest time. Reality hadn’t clicked in yet. Bridget Vergara couldn’t attend the funeral as her mental state was highly affected. There was much to be done then; after the funeral, we didn’t dare to interact with each other. The memories of our friends are still fresh in our minds, and we don’t know how to let go. Most of us had never lost anyone close, and the demise of our friends was a shock. We least expected.
