“I’ve got bad news.”
The room tightened around the words.
I stepped forward first. “What did you find?”
Elder Richard closed the door behind him and faced us fully. His expression was not panicked.
It was resolved.
“I went deeper into the original cycle records,” he said. “Beyond summaries. Beyond commentary. I accessed the first preserved accounts.”
Scarlett drew in a slow breath. Jesse shifted closer to her instinctively.
“And?” Tyler asked.
Richard looked at each of us before answering.
“The Elementals have never reached full power.”
Silence fell, sharp and disbelieving.
“That is not possible,” Skyler said immediately. “We have records of entire territories reshaped.”
“Yes,” Richard agreed calmly. “Powerful. Devastating. But not complete.”
