Lucas is getting married...

711 Words
It was dark... The silence of the room was only broken by Noah’s heavy breathing... He opened his eyes and realized he was in some room, lying on the floor, beaten and bruised. He remembered how those three idiots had dragged him here and started beating him, though he didn’t understand why... He couldn’t gather his thoughts. He couldn’t move, his entire body hurt, and when he tried to call for help, no sound came out. Suddenly, the door opened, and someone entered. In the darkness, he couldn’t see the person’s face, but when he heard the voice, he realized it was his father standing in front of him. "Dad?" "Forget that word. I’m not your father," Sejun said coldly, kneeling in front of Noah. "I adopted you and raised you. Is this how you repay me?" Noah’s heart began to race, his eyes widening... "Dad..." he tried to speak, but his father’s slap stopped him. "Foolish boy, I told you not to say that word. You’re not my son," Noah’s eyes filled with tears. The physical pain wasn’t as unbearable as his father’s words. "I didn’t raise you so you could destroy my family, so you could ruin my son," Sejun stood up and started yelling. "You were filth when you were alone, and you’ll remain filth. You’re useless to anyone, disgusting," unable to hold back, he kicked Noah in the side, who was already crying and wouldn’t even look at his father. "Stupid, disgusting, I regret ever keeping you. I should’ve left you alone to starve, i***t," Sejun took a deep breath and, without looking at Noah, said, "I don’t want to see you near Lucas anymore... he... he’s getting married." Noah’s world turned upside down. He didn’t even understand what he was feeling—anger or pain. "And if you try to interfere, I’ll kill you. My hand won’t tremble, believe me," Sejun smirked, looking into Noah’s eyes, then spat on the ground and left, leaving his son in the room. "Don’t let him out," he told the two guys standing by the door. "Keep him here until Lucas’s wedding. After that, you can let him go..." --- "Noah... Noah..." Mari entered the room, rushed over, and started shaking her son to wake him up. "Lucas, Lucas, wake up," Lucas opened his eyes and, looking at his mother in fear, asked, "Noah... Mom, where’s Noah?" "I don’t know, son," his mother lowered her head. "He hasn’t come home yet." "What?" Lucas began to panic. Despite his entire body aching, he got up and headed for the door, but before he could leave the room, his father walked in. "Where are you rushing off to?" "Where’s Noah?" Lucas asked coldly. "Enough thinking about him. Forget him," Sejun said angrily. "Forget him and prepare for your wedding..." Lucas froze. "Wh... what wedding?" he prayed his father would laugh and say it was a joke, but not a single muscle on Sejun’s face moved, and his gaze was firm. "Dad, tell me you’re lying." "Do I really seem like such a liar? I’m not lying. Prepare yourself. Your wedding is in three days. And if you try to run or ruin the wedding," Sejun paused and, looking intently into his son’s eyes, said, "Noah will pay the price..." He walked out of the room. --- Lucas stood there, staring blankly at one spot, as if he wasn’t even breathing. "Lucas," Mari stood up and approached her son. "Lucas..." "Who am I marrying?" Lucas whispered. "Sejun’s friend’s daughter, Yuna," Mari replied with a smile. "Everything will be fine, Lucas. You’ll see. You’ll get married, and over time, you’ll forget Noah and learn to love Yuna..." "Mom," Lucas interrupted, his eyes filling with tears. "You don’t forget the person you love in life. There’s no replacement for them..." "Son..." "I want to be alone," Lucas walked over to the bed. "Please leave..." Mari left silently. When the door closed, Lucas let his emotions take over, hugging a pillow and starting to cry. It hurt—his heart, his soul... everything hurt. How he wished he could close his eyes, open them, and find himself next to Noah, in his arms, kissing him and never letting go... "Forgive me, Noah, my Noah... forgive me..."
