I was watching Lowe and Riven swim from the porch, Beth having gone out with her mother earlier.
I was unpleasantly surprised when Jake popped up out of nowhere.
"What do you want, Jake?"
"I thought we could go over to the Rogues, ask some questions."
I frowned, still not daring to look at him, "That was a quick change."
"I told you I would help you. Plus I need to talk to you about Jesse, but not here."
Riven looked over at us, a slight frown on his face too.
"Let me just speak to him."
"Do not mention that we're going to the Rogues and do not mention Jesse."
"Right, so what should I say?" I huffed, "So I'm going with my ex, but I can't tell you where or why? Come on, Jake, be realistic here."
He glanced over at Riven, "Let me go talk to him."
