A loud, piercing scream echoes through the the air, startling me, and I think I felt Annabelle jump, or maybe it was me.  What is happening? "What the hell was that?" I ask Annabelle, trying to keep my voice from shaking. The sound of confusion and panic creeps into my ear as I heard more anguished shouts and screams. The hair at the back of my neck pricks up and I shudder. Annabelle looks at me with a unreadable expression and I stare back at her with terrified eyes. She doesn't look scared, to say the least.
