Eve’s POV The morning felt wrong, I had woken up from a strange dream, yet again. But I simply dismissed it, walking towards the kitchen for some water. The house felt quiet, Danny’s laughter wasn’t echoing through the house, but I could still hear him. I sat by the window watching the city at a far distance buzz with its usual activities, I watched the trees sway with its beautiful rhythm. The wards Malik placed still shimmered but even this magic couldn’t ward of what I was feeling. I turned and caught my reflection briefly, my eyes flashed, dark veins flowed beneath my skin, shock washed over me, I reached for my neck but it sizzled, burning me, like I had touched some energy trying to break free.
