Eve’s POV I kept stealing short glances at him as we walked, afraid that if I looked too long I would ruin the moment. He carried the weight of everything we were facing, yet he still made sure I was steady enough to breathe and live with hope. “Do you ever get a break?” I asked. He turned to me with a half smile tugging at his lips. “Breaks are for people who think the world ever gives them reasons to rest.” I laughed a shaky laugh. “I guess we are not those people then.” “Not for a while.”he said turning his gaze away again, “but we can make every moment ours.” I nodded, letting my self relax a little.
