A blast of power surged from my chest, this wasn’t me shifting or anything like that , this one felt like memory, like something my body already knew how to do. The creature flew back, slamming itself into the dresser so hard that the wood shattered to pieces
The creature screeched loudly and then it dissolved into smoke and then disappeared.
I collapsed to my knees, my entire body shaking violently, my half shifted claws digging into the floorboards.
My heart hammered so hard, questions flooded my mind. What exactly was happening to me, what did I just fight with, what did it mean by ‘awake’, what was that burst of energy? Just then the door burst open, startling me even further.
