Eve’s POV Malik just stared at me, his chest rising and falling heavily, eyes tracking every shift of light across my silver fur as though he were seeing the moon itself breathing in front of him. His wolf hovered behind his gaze. We had left Astrid’s unconscious body at the forest, through all of it, Malik’s attention was fixed entirely on me. “Eve?” he whispered. “I…goddess, I don’t even know what to say.” I shifted back before he could finish. The world folded inward, pulling my wolf beneath my skin. The fur receded, the markings dimmed but didn’t disappear, they lingered like faint moonlit tattoos across my shoulders, my ribs and my hips.
