818 Words
MAX POV What an exhausting day I've had today? As soon as I reached my penthouse, I threw the book I bought on the couch and sit on the couch to relax myself. I just realized I have not been myself today, I seemed to be restless. What is this feeling? I need a f*ck to get my mind together. After getting showered, I went back to my kitchen to get a cup of coffee. As I sits down, the book caught my attention. I picked up the book and flip the page and again closed the book. Whoever wrote this book about mafia is so dead of me. I thought. After drinking my coffee, I did everything I could to entertain myself but none seem impressed to me. I wanted to kill, but none of my enemies makes a move yet. There's nothing to torture in my basement. Then I thought of the book, went picked the book and took outside the balcony. I flipped the page to the first chapter as I started reading. CHAPTER 1 Not a day gets better for me. My literature professor keeps urging everyone of us to complete the book that she assigned to us since last month. It's not an easy work. How could one complete a novel in just a month? Everyone of us were working on but none of us have completed yet. I am writing only still on chapter 8 , however our professor told us not to be less than 50 chapters. I need someone to entertain me so that I could complete it fast. My best friend, Angela, she and I were both literature students, she hasn't even started yet. The next day at campus, everyone of us from literature club decided to ask professor Drew for half and a month leave so that we could complete our novel without any worries. Professor Drew hesitated at first, but when we kept on pleading. She agreed but only during her class hours. We dispersed away with happy smiles. On our way, Angela and I went to a cafe to grab ourselves cappuccino. When we went inside, there are some people but none of them talked to each other. Their eyes held fear and we sense death in their eyes. 'What is wrong with these people here?' I thought. Then Angela and I took our seat and waited for a waiter to come and take our orders. It was already past 20 minutes, no waiter came to serve us. We started to get impatient. "Gela, let's just leave" "Ok" We decided to leave, as we neared the door. A man in a suit blocked our way out. "Excuse us?" Angela asked. "Miss, you cannot leave since you've entered" The man in a black suit told us. As I about to talked back. BOOM! The sound of a gunshot was heard from the backdoor. "We're under attack!" Angela shouted holding me under the table. "What?" As I was about to asked the man in suit to get down, I saw him took out a gun and went towards the backdoor. I followed the man. "Briella, where are you going?" Angela whisper shout at me. I ignored her call and went through the backdoor to find a man lying on the pool of blood. I gasped loudly. "Briella" Angela called behind me. As soon as she saw a man on the ground. "What the f**king in the world is happening here" She spoke out loud. We didn't realise anything until the men in suit looked at us. In the middle of room, sat a man on the chair holding a gun in his hand. There was a blood stained on his shirt. He has a sharp feature making him looked hot. I forgot everything that happened a few minutes ago until he spoke. "I see that you have a fiesty cursing friend" That hot man spoke to me. I didn't speak to him, I kept on staring at his handsome face. Until..... "Speak to me when I'm speaking to you, young lady" That hot man hoarse at me pointing his gun at my chin. "She's briella" Angela spoke for me letting me know that he's asking my name. "I'm not talking to you" "I'm Briella, and she's Angela" I stuttered now telling both of our names. __________ I didn't know that it was already dark until a cold breeze touches my skin. I only came to know that I was too engrossed in a novel. I forgot for a minute that I am a mafia. Why am I finding this book interesting? I myself couldn't answer that. But I knew I have to know about this writer, I wanted to know if this writer has ever heard about a mafia, I wanted to know why this writer writes about this. I even wondered how people find this book interesting.
