She Still Wants You

Kate's Game

Meagan's POV

I could hear the birds in the trees singing above us, and there were kids playing around at a chilling spot in town. I was with Kate at Kalie's play  it is close to a curio market. I was capturing one of my client's kids, she was trying out the jewelry from the curio. Shortly we were done with the photo shoot. Kate and I were going to get some groceries around town before we head home. 

We passed by a shelf of cucumbers and Kate tapped my shoulder pointing at a certain cucumber saying

 "This is a good size for lonely ladies like you." She said with a facial expression like a tour guide giving recommendations of a fun place.

She started laughing after seeing my expression as I reply "Phusssh, you're crazy. Who told you am lonely? Am in a happy relationship" I protested even though she knows my relationship is not at its best still I am never using a cucumber, not in this life time nor the next life. We are done collecting what's on our budget list and now we are window shopping on our way out the shop. Then we ran into one of Kate's candidates, Scott, the guy is cool and wealthy. He has been proposing to Kate multiple times but she often leaves him hanging.

"Scott!... Is that you?" Kate asked wearing her happy face. I couldn't really tell if she is genuinely happy to see him or maybe she is just flirting with Him, so that he can buy her something. 

"Aaah Kate!" Scott replied on top of his voice in realization, I could tell he is really happy to see her, he looked a bit a nervous after hugging her. 

"Give me another hug, I really miss you. Its been a while " Kate said looking at Scott in the eyes, which made Scott to start blushing as they hugged. 

Kate and Scott had a chill chat, so I kept a short distance from them. Shortly I heard Kate saying bye, 

"Nice to see you, hope to see you around again, take care my love." Kate said after hugging him. Kate started coming my way then Scott called her back. She turned back to hear him out. Scott was getting some cash out of his wallet. 

"Go get yourselves something with your friend". Scott said while giving Kate the money.

"Awwr, thanks my love." Kate said after giving Scott a perk.

Scott carried on his way and we went back to buy some of the stuff that we were window shopping. Scott gave us about a K1000. We quickly shopped and left town. On our way home, we are now on a cab, Kate turned to me, 

"I hope you learnt something from my chill chat with Scott?" Kate asked. "I noticed you kept a happy face throughout, and you looked like you really missed him a lot" I said my observation. 

"Its good you were observing. That's the first rule of getting what you want from a man. You keep a cute smile on your face. It becomes hard to say no to a smiling face." Kate started her lecture that caught the attention of the driver. He couldn't resist joining our conversation. 

We reached home and the driver helps us carry the groceries to the door, thanks to Kate's sweet talks. We are now inside the house and Kate was impressed with the new look I gave to the apartment.

"Beautiful makeover, you really taking this engagement thing seriously?" Kate passed her comment agazing at the pictures of Oscar and I that were around in the living room. It has been a while since she has been here. Ever since she started going on her business trips she is barely free to come spend the day here.

"You guys looked good in this photo" Kae said holding an A4 sized portrait of us that was on the TV stand.  I peeked through the kitchen-dinning window. "Oh, thanks and that day was fun" I replied as I continued packing the groceries in the kitchen. 

I joined Kae in the living room with a bowl of popcorns. We are going to have a long talk today. I found her streaming Naruto, it is our favorite anime. Sasuke Uchiha is my favorite character, and Kae's favorite character is Madara Uchiha. I wonder what she like about Madara, the guy is hideous. Kae was so focused watching the fight of the uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi were battling to death. It is hard to take sides they're both my favorites, "Itachi is my imaginary crush, if he was real I swear I would have been all over his face. Sasuke is kinda like Itachi but a bit realististic, he reminds me of Oscar that's why he is my favorite." I think to myself as I watch the brothers battled."I wish could cast Oscar in a gen jutsu" I make a dummy comment to bring up the issue I wanted Kae to help me with. She chuckles, 

"That's wasting chakra, I would want to cast all men in a gen jutsu" Kate said deeping her hand in the popcorns."Now I see where you're getting it wrong" Kae said throwing some corns in her mouth. "You are so focused on Oscar, hence every romantic thing that inspires makes you think of trying it out with Oscar, buh he seems not to reciprocate that effort. And that gets you agitated" Kae summarized my behavior and the reason behind my frustration.

"Yes, like I am thinking of our future happiness and how we will be happier. But he looks too comfortable about it like we are already married living in our old age." I agree with Kae and started venting. "I can't blame me him for that, and neither should you. I mean, you guys are already living that marriage life. You are staying together, sharing chores and obviously having lame s*x nearly every night. The only thing missing is kids. Otherwise you guys are basically married . I wonder why you are even making it an issue?" 

Kate told me the hard truth that I was trying to avoiding. "She is right Oscar and I are living the marriage life, practically we are already married only waiting for the day we'll make it official in front of people." I think to myself as I went quiet for a while digesting Kae's words. "Oh so that's why he is so relaxed, there is nothing much to motivate him?" I said out loud one of my thoughts that made me slowly nod my head. 

"So that's the thing baby girl, you're not really doing anything that's motivating him to marry you. I think it is high time you end the trial version of your relationship and make Oscar window shop you?" Kae said dipping her hand in the bowl to pick up the last few popcorns that were remaining.

"What do you mean ending the trail version and making him window shop me?" I asked trying to grasp Kae's words. I have a feeling I know what she is saying but there's just somewhere I am failing to comprehend. 

"Go bring some more popcorns and I'll explain what I mean." Kae said handing me the bowl. I carry the bowl heading to the kitchen pondering on what Kae meant. 

"And make it spicy baby girl, you know the way I like it!" Kae said out as I was in the kitchen.

"Alright" I reply preparing Kae's favorite spicies, before mixing them with the popcorns.While still in the kitchen I think of preparing some juice for our throats, I reach for the fridge to grab some cold water. Opening the door of the fridge am welcomed by a sealed bottle of Amarula with a big smile tempting me to take a sip.I ignore the bottle of Amarula looking for the cold water as I silently replied to the bottle "nope, not today". I quickly peruse the fridge with my eyes, there is no cold water all of it had already turned ice. 

"I guess I have no choice but to use tap water. While am still waiting for this ice to melt." I get one bottle of ice as I close the fridge. 

"Why are you taking so long? The episode ended a few minutes ago and you're still here..." Kae said coming in the kitchen as I was fetching the water from the tap. 

"Oh, I thought of preparing some juice" I said diluting the juice in our cups.

"Good idea, am feeling thirsty I can drink my own pee" Kae said in a silly manner walking towards the fridge. Before I could warn Kae that there's no water in there, she had already opened the door of the fridge.

"Baby girl!...." Kae shouts to get my attention.

"Uuuhhhn!" I exclaim in surprise to her shout. 

"You know what,--- today am grooming you into thee boss lady, by the time am done with you, you will be the queen that you want to be and you will regain control of your life" Kae said taking a sip of the amarula that was in the fridge. 

"And,--- count me out on the juice, I've already found my juicy juice." Kae says after taking a sip as she walks to the bowl of popcorns."Ummmm spicy, just how I love them." Kae grabs a hand full of popcorns as she leaves the kitchen. 

Oscar will be a bit mad at me, when he finds the bottle is empty, but Its not like I have much of a choice, my guru needs to quench her thirst and she has said she will groom me into a boss lady, I can't afford to miss this opportunity over a bottle of liquor. I say to myself carrying my juice and the popcorns while taking one last glance of the kitchen. I follow Kae after a few seconds.

"So like I was saying baby girl, you need to make Oscar window shop you." Kae said pointing me with her index finger while still holding the bottle after taking a sip. 

"How do I do it?" I ask looking clueless on how to go about it. How can I make a man window shop me.

"Seriourly baby girl!, I see you still have a lot to learn." Kae chuckled in surprise as she was saying."Anyways,--- its good you are dating a good boy now" Kae said after taking another sip."I am saying, you have to give him something to want you more for and then deny him the pleasure of having you anytime he wants. Do it like these computer app developers do, they let you use the application for a while then later urge you to buy the app if you want to continue using all the features. You need to start seeing this love thing as it is baby girl, it is simply an ironic business game of emotions." Kae said with a serious face to emphasis her point that love is not free, it is all an economical balance of emotions, actions, wants and needs.

"Oh I see, so that will motivate him to take things serious" I say with a slightly absent-minded 'now I get it face', as I am trying to follow through with Kae's theory. 

"Uunmhh,--- exactly, so you will have to move out of this apartment. Build some space physically and then spend more time talking on the phone. Become very good to him within the last few days before you leave. I know it will be hard for you baby girl, buh this the method that is promising to get you the type of results you want." Kae said putting the bottle down to hold my hands after taking a sip. 

"I hope it will work", I replied with my face down. I didn't expect such a plan, but I trust Kae with these things so I'll give it a shot, I brace myself trying to focus on the bright side of things.

"Don't worry baby girl, things will be okay just stay strong" Kae gives me a hug padding my shoulder as she whispers to my ear.

"And one thing, you will have to give him a freaky, wild and sexy night a few days before leaving. Trust me he'll be asking you to come back home every time he calls" Kae says making those funny s*x gestures that I always say are too much for me.

Kae stayed the whole afternoon at our house. It was fun I learnt a lot. She walked me through the basics and some tricks on how to go about it in a case where mess up. I escorted her to go get on a cab in the evenings.
