CHAPTER 12

Chapter 12

Destiny’s POV

One Friday morning Charles came and asked if I would be willing to work out of state. We had a serial r****t of girls ages seven to eleven; some lived through the trauma most didn’t. I agreed immediately. I wanted to interview the survivors first to get an idea if they were held in the same place. Fortunately, they were. It was an abandoned school bus converted to an RV. The girls broke my heart. I asked each girl what they remembered most about the RV. They each said something different but that was ok.

I pulled Charles aside and told him that the perpetrator was an officer of the law and to be careful. I was ready to take him there but this one would be especially dangerous. Charles informed the commanding officers, and we left in the car like we always did then teleported to the car and everything in it to the site. So, we were a good thirty minutes before everyone else. The bus was empty except for three dog kennels with one girl in each, covered in filth. The youngest was six the oldest nine. We got them out and took our crime scene photos then I teleported them all to the hospital just as the other cars came over the horizon. These girls could identify their kidnapper. They had been beaten r***d and abused. Malnutrition was their least worry. I had them put in the same room and didn’t allow any officers to come in with them except for women. Two hours later a sergeant was demanding to see them, but I had already identified him as a perpetrator. However, the girls said there were two. So, I waited for the next culprit to make his move. Finally, the police captain tried to come in and I knew. I let Charles know and arrests were made, but it was a nasty case. I had to take a plane back as I was too far from home to teleport, but I was sure glad when I got there. This was a more difficult case cause I had to seek out the guilty from the supposed innocent.

One day Charles pulled me to the side and asked a favor” would you find my fated mate” I am 27 and not found her yet. I thought for a moment and replied.

“She is in human town her name is Karen and she is a strong Christian so she may reject you. You can only try.” I said. That night after work we went out dancing. We had not been since rogues had tried to take me. We had so much fun, and it was a memory I won’t soon forget.

The next morning, I was called to chief’s office again for a meeting with Charles “a family has gone missing in a snowstorm up in Washington there are five members including an infant would you help.”

“Yes, when do we leave.” Destiny said.

“As soon as you pack a bag.” The chief replied.

“Give me ten minutes” she said, and she disappeared.

The flight was three hours of boring air travel and bad weather, but we made it safe. We disembarked and was met by the forestry search and rescue. “The family has been out there for three nights there is not much hope left” said one of the rangers. We do what we can.

“I’ve found all five “I said “though I cant differentiate who is who” give me identifying flags. She walked up the mountain posting the flags as she went. And sure, enough as they dug they uncovered the bodies of the family. The national guard said “they are not dead till they are warm and dead” and took them to the hospital. By some miracle of God, they all recovered with just a bit of frostbite.

“Excuse me mam but how did you do that, we have been searching for days and you walk up and nonchalantly post the flags in the exact spot where they were to be found.”

I’m just a psychic trying to use my gifts for the good of the world I really cant explain it better than that. We boarded the plane and headed home. I couldn’t wait to get back to my mate. When we landed Damian was there waiting for me. It was all that I could ask for supporting me in all that I did. We went home to celebrate another uneventful homecoming me praising God for our blessings and Damian praising the moon goddess for our life.

Damien’s POV

I woke up to the sounds of beeping machines and tubes everywhere. I tried to speak but I couldn’t get sound out. My first thought was I was going to be mute. Just then the alarms went off and a nurse popped her head in. she stepped back out and called the doctor. I tried to speak again but he told me not to. He said my throat was severely injured and needed time to heal. I tried to move but the pain was terrible. The doctor said It would have been much worse except that Destiny had came in and healed the holes in my neck and leg. But there was still a lot of muscle loss and damage that would need physical therapy to come back from. For now, he wanted me to sleep. Destiny came in and held my hand. She told me she loved me but had to go out of state to help some young r**e victims. She promised to be back within the next few days.

I started therapy the next day. They had me blowing in tubes to strengthen my oxygen out put three times a day and to walk ten steps twice a day. It didn’t sound like much, but I was exhausted after each session. This kept me busy until Destiny returned. She took a week off work to stay with me and help with therapy. Her cute little baby bump was showing, and we would have new ultrasounds next week. On Wednesday of her day off, she got called in for a snow bound family and had to leave again. I missed her terribly when she was gone but she was needed elsewhere and I understood. I was beginning to get my voice back but it was a hoarse whisper. I surprised Destiny when she got back by telling her that I loved her. She was ecstatic. I was not released for strenuous activities so s*x was out of the picture, however I did play around a bit with him.

Destiny’s POV

I was beginning to take mommy and me classes to prepare for the twins who were due late next month. I had arranged for maternity leave at work and didn’t plan to start it until I went into labor, to insure as much time with the littles as possible. Damien also would be there for most as he was on long term disability through the pack clinic. The two rogues held back for questioning admitted they were there for Damien with a capture or kill order. When asked why they said it was to control Destiny. Because I didn’t share the extent of my abilities, they didn’t realize that I could find him anywhere and teleport him out.

The next morning it was work as usual except I kept feeling like something was up. I was called to the chief’s office on a routine lost and find. Apparently, an older gentleman, human had left home in his car two days ago and was still missing. All they had for me to hold was a worn out old hat. The man was easy enough to find as he was traveling down a straight freeway, the difficult part was he was moving so I couldn’t teleport there. We took Charles SUV and hurried to the location but the man had already turned off the freeway onto another one. We had to backtrack two miles to find the exit and get on it. Five more miles and we had caught up to him. Charles turned on his lights and pulled the man over who was lost and grateful to be found.

Suddenly I felt a sting in my neck, and I had just enough time to call out to Adrian for help when I saw Charles also get stuck. Charles went down immediately so I thought I should too. I asked Diamond what was going on. And she said we were being kidnapped that she was not affected by wolfsbane as she was a lunar wolf but that it was important that they did not know that. She said I was to be a “unconscious” for two hours and then appear weak, and act like I couldn’t communicate with my wolf.

Six men approached and one poked me with the butt of a rifle. “She fell slow should I hit her again.” He said.

“No” the second man said “it probably took a few seconds to get into her system. I heard she is worth millions.”

“Let’s get her out of here before curious eyes stop to ‘help’” the third guy grunted. They then picked them up, hog tied them and put them in the back of their own SUV. Then drove off. They didn’t even look back so I was able to link Adrian before we went out of linking distance. I told him we were in the same SUV and heading down interstate forty toward Fort Smith Arkansas. He was trying to tell me something, but the mind link became blinky and then was lost to me. I was alone and without help. I had to get out of the restraints to help Charles. I was just about out when guy number one looked back and saw me straining. He quickly gave me another shot and I had to pretend to pass out. Just then we turned a corner and I rolled over into Charles. I grabbed his pants leg and said Wal Mart. Like that we were in isle three of some random Wal Mart. I tried linking Adrian but couldn’t, and the Wal Mart people were trying to help us and ask questions at the same time. We were both untied but Charles was still knocked out. I borrowed a cell phone and called Adrian. I found out we were in Morrilton Arkansas. So it was big news when three black SUVs pulled up to get us as Morrilton is a small town. We convinced everyone it was a magic trick gone wrong before heading home. Halfway home we were surrounded by six vehicles that started pushing us off the road. I didn’t know what to do, I looked to Adrian who held me close and told me to calm down. They continued to try to drive us off the road and we continued to fight back so far; they had knocked one of the SUVs off the road. Now there were only two SUV’s and six attacking vehicles. We were almost to our territory when another SUV was messed up and pushed off the road. Now it was just us there were six people in the SUV. We had three miles before we were in our territory, and we had mind linked to get help before we were forced off the road. Before they got to us Adrian told me not to get out of the car I could not shift into diamond because I was pregnant, but I still could use my gifts. Adrian told me to teleport home but I didn’t want to leave him the six cars surrounded us, and twenty men got out to try to remove me from the car I had everyone to hold hands and tried to teleport then back to the house but it was too much. I could only teleport them outside the vehicle they immediately shifted into wolves and began fighting I teleported home because Adrian made me promise to. Just as I left I saw other vehicles pulling up to help and I waited anxiously at home
