Family: will I ever get one

Chapter four

That one sentence changed the way that I was feeling that day when I had found out that I had a brother and that he was has been raised by my parents ex friend Gabriel. I just hope that he is ok and the he is not to far gone where I would have to kill him to. As I’m sitting on my bed in a B&B half way across the state I tried to think of a way that I can keep me brother alive but it sounds so impossible when I don’t know anything about what he is going though.

After that night when I found out we had left that morning. I don’t know where we were going but I didn’t care after that. I tried to keep track of the days but they where just blending together until I realized that we had been on the road for three weeks and realizing that me birthday was the next day I didn’t even care that much about it. It will just be like the rest of my birthdays. I wasn’t going to get anything so it didn’t matter.

After I had my time to think I went to go find Ivor to see if we where going to be leaving instead of staying the night. I couldn’t find him right away and that worried me the most because he never went to far from me. I didn’t know what to do other than go and look for him but as I was about to walk out of the door I ran right into a wall, or what felt like a wall but as I looked up I realized that it was Ivor walking in.

After me pretty much running into Ivor I was thrown back which he had to reach out to catch me from falling on my ass.

“Thanks.” I said to him after I was steady

“Sorry I didn’t know that you were there.” Ivor said looking at me.

“It’s ok. I was looking for you anyway. Why did you leave?”

“I had to go and get some things. Way where you looking for me?” Ivor asked me as we where going back to our room.

“I was just going to ask if we where going to be leaving tonight or tomorrow.” I said as we got to the door.

“Well I was going to let you know that we were going to leave tomorrow morning after you get up.” Ivor said to me.

“OK. Why can’t we stay in one place more then a day?” I asked without thinking, hoping he won’t get mad at me for asking.

“The longer we stay in one place the easier it will be for Gabriel to find us.” Ivor said.

I didn’t know what to say to him so I just went to my bed trying to find something to do. After about an hour of just laying there I got up.

“Ivor, what will happen when I turn 20?” I asked

“You will get your powers and with that you will have to control them by learning what they can do.” Ivor said. “and just so you are aware you will also be able to find your soulmate to.”

“My soulmate?”

“Yes.” Ivor said to me.

“I that was only for werewolves an not witches, or can it happen to anyone.” I just blurted ou not thinking about what I said.

“Most humans don’t realize that they have a soulmate until they find someone who is there world. It’s the same way with others different species.”

“Wait there is more then just werewolves and witches?”

“Yes there are vampire’s and fairies out in the world just waiting to find there soulmate.” Ivor said with a longing in his voice.

“Ivor, have you found your soulmate yet?” I asked without thinking. I quickly covered my mouth before I could say any more.

“No I have yet to find her but I’m hoping that I’ll find her soon or I just might give up looking for her. “ Ivor said “why don’t you try to get some sleep tomorrow is going to be a big day.”

“What do you mean by that?” I asked confused. He didn’t answer me just pointed to my bed. As if to say just go to bed you will know in the morning. So I did but I was not happy about it and I was starting to get mad at Ivor for ignoring me question.

It took me a while to fall asleep but when I did it was around 10 pm so I didn’t have that long to sleep until we got up for the day so we could get a good jump on the traveling we still had to go. Ivor told me that he was going to take me to me the coven and the elders of the same coven that my parents were a part of before they where killed.

I was jolted awake by a pain in my stomach. I tried to cry out but couldn’t. I tried to stand up but when I uncovered my legs I didn’t see my legs and feet I saw a pair of paws at the end of my legs. “Ivor wake up.” I said half yelled to get him up. I wasn’t sorry either about it for it worked the way I wanted it to.

“What is it what’s wrong?” He said before he looked at my legs an saw what I was freaking out about “Well I’ll be dammed.” Ivor said after seeing the paws.

“What is that supposed to mean?” I asked him.

“Valoar, come down. Its just your powers.”

“What kind of powers do I have then?” I asked still a little freaked out an I think the Ivor knows that I’m still freaked out by this.

“I need you to come down first so that I can walk you through to change your paws back into feet. Ok."

“OK walk me through this please.”

“Are you come down enough to do this?”

“Yes, I am just help me.”

“OK this is what I want you to do, picture your feet.” Ivor said. I pictured my feet the way that they where when I went to bed. I could feel the change as they went back to normal.

“Ok can you tell me why I had pain in my stomach when I woke up when it was my feet that changed an nothing else?” I asked Ivor.

“I have no idea why that would happen. But I would think that the coven would have an idea as to why. Let’s get our stuff together and we can make our leave to get to the coven.” Ivor said.

“Ivor?”

“Yes Valoar.“

I had no idea how to say this so I just had to come out an say it “I think I know who my soul mate is.”

“Ok who do you think that it is?” Ivor asked with an odd look.

“I think that it might be you.” I said hopping that he would not be to upset.
