I don’t know what I was thinking when I told him that I thought that he was my soul mate, but I just knew that when Ivor had put his hand on me that I knew by the way my heart had stopped for a second, or the way that I knew he felt it to.
After I said that and after I was back to myself instead of having paws for feet we had started on our way to the coven so we could find out what I had for a power and why I had a sharp pain in my stomach. When we where half the way to the coven Ivor had said that we could take a break and seat to eat something so we could keep our strength up so we could get to the coven by night fall.
“Ok I have to ask do you really think that I’m your soul mate?” Ivor asked me.
“Yes, I really do think that you are my soul mate, but its like you said the other day the coven can tell if we are destined to be together or not. But I know that they will say that we are.” I answered.
“But how do you know that we are Val?”
“I just know. I don’t know how to say it, but I did feel something when you touched me to get me to come down when I had paws for feet.” I said not meaning to tell him what I had felt but it just sort of came out like I didn’t have control over my mouth.
“What? You felt it to. I thought that I was just imaging it.” Ivor said. “hold on I want to try something before we get to the coven.”
“And what is that may I ask?” I didn’t get an answer from him he just got up from his seat to walk to me. Ivor sat down next to me and put his hand on mine. The instant his hand touched mine I felt it. It was like a spark of energy going through me. Without thinking I looked up at Ivor to see if it was the same for him. I was mate with his dark green eyes, and I could see that he felt it to.
After what felt like an hour but was just a minute Ivor moved his hand away from mine. As I was starting to feel the loss of his touch, I felt it again but when I looked down to my hand his wasn’t on mine. Till I could feel his hand on my shoulder moving to my check. Once Ivor’s hand was on my check, he took his thumb and rubbed small circles with the lightest of a touch. It didn’t last longer than a second, but it was enough to make me breathless.
“No, we can’t do this. We have to get the elders approval first.” Ivor said with a little bit of sadness in his voice. I didn’t trust my voice not to give away how I felt so I just nodded my head.
After that we had left the Bed and Breakfast and started to make the last of the journey to the coven that my parents where a part of. Me and Ivor didn’t really talk that much but every once in awhile I would see a faraway look in his eyes. I don’t know why he had that look or if he was just thinking of something.
You see I never was good at making conversations with others when I was still in school, I guess I know why that is now.
After about an hour of walking Ivor told me that we where about half a mile away from the boarder of the coven and that they will send people out to see who it is and what they want. I wasn’t scared of meeting the coven and the elders, but I feared finding out if Ivor was my soul mate or not. I just want this trip to be over with so I can see where my mom and dad grown up with and who was there to teach them how to control their powers
It took us another day of walking to get to the coven. When we got there, we were stopped by someone hiding in the woods.
“My name is Ivor I ask to speak with the elders to introduce Valoar to them she is about to turn 20 in a day or too.” Ivor said to the man at least I thought it was a man. Whatever it was let us pass thought but when we got just beyond the wood line, we can into a clearing with about a dozen people in it but I could tell that only half of the people were of importance. The people that was there that wasn’t important were mostly woman and a couple of men.
The elders where sitting on chairs but it didn’t look like chairs. It looked more like logs that were made into chairs. I wonder how they did that. As I was wondering that I was led to the middle of the clearing, right in front of the elders. To say that I was nerves was an understatement, I was just hoping that I wouldn’t mess this up for Ivor and for myself.
“Welcome to our coven Valoar. We are happy that you and Ivor have made it to us in one piece. I hope that you didn’t fined any trouble on your way to us.” Asked one of the elders.
“No more than the normal.” Ivor said to the female elder. “This is the daughter of the late Mike and Donna.” When Ivor said that it got their attention.
“What do you mean by daughter they didn’t have a daughter?” Said the female elder.
“They did have one, but they had kept her in hiding to protect her, but it only got them killed in the end by one of there friends.” Ivor said with anger.
“How can we be so sure that this girl is in fact their daughter.” Asked the female elder. I’m begging to think that she is the head elder out of them all just because she has talked the most and for, she has the most power because I can feel it rolling off her.
“She is there daughter because I was there when she was born, and her mother made me promise not to let any harm come her way. Her mother made me binned it with magic.” Once Ivor said that the female elder got a look on her face that was of pure shock with a mix of something I could place. I think it was a mix of fear, but I wasn’t positive.
“Why would she do that for?” asked the high elder.
“She asked me to because she knew that her daughter would be powerful and that she would have to finish what was stared over twenty years ago.” Ivor said
“Ok. That part is settled for now, but I would like to know is way we didn’t know about her. We could have helped her, protected her.” Said the high elder
“it wasn’t possible for you and the rest of the coven to protect her before she was born.” Ivor answered.
“What do you mean that it wasn’t possible for us to do?” asked the elder
“Because, the person that she was protecting Valoar from was in the coven at the time of her birth, so she had me take her out of the coven after Valoar was born and to keep an eye on her until her 20th birthday but it didn’t happen as planned. We both know what I mean by that for I know that most of you-if not all, have heard what happened to Val’s house in the last month.” As Ivor had finished saying most of the elders was nodding their head and mumbling a yes.
“Ok what is it that you and Valoar are asking of us. The elders?” said the high elder.
“We are asking you and the rest of the elders if we could be welcomed back into the coven for protection.” Ivor said.
Once Ivor had finished talking the high elder had turn to the rest of them. It looked like they were having a discussion, but no one was talking out loud.
“Ok we have discussed it and we agreed that you and Valoar can stay.” The high elder said after a few moments of them silently talking to each other. “We will get your rooms ready for you.”
“Would you be so kind as to let us have our rooms next to each other or on the same floor, so I’m close to her?” asked Ivor
“And why is that Ivor?” asked the elder to the right of the high elder. It is the first time she has spoken cense we got there.
“I only ask because Valoar had a partial shift two night ago and her birthday isn’t until the end of this week-by the way she had a sharp pain in her stomach as well if that can help you find out what kind of power Val has.”
