Honestly... Love is Needed

Her eyes blinked open. She looked beside her to see a pair of brown eyes staring at her. "You're awake." The person sounded so relieved and that bothered her. Why was this person happy? "Glow, can you talk?" It was a man, she realized. He seemed familiar... "Glow?" He made the mistake of touching her. She flinched and started moving away from him. He looked so familiar but she couldn't pinpoint to where they'd met. He stood up, backing away from her, hands raised up as if in surrender. "M- my name is Nduka- " "I'm not dead," was the first thing she said. Still faraway from her bed, he continued talking. "Yes, you're not dead. Thankfully, I was the one who- " "Saved me," she interrupted. Nduka smiled. He was the popular guy at the hospital... The one who had a motorbike. She remembered him from the bridge. He was the one who grabbed her, preventing her from falling. He was the one who ruined her life. "Leave," she said quietly. His eyes widened. "But- " "Leave!" She screamed. "Leave me the f**k alone! Get out! Get out of this room, now!" Nduka seemed frightened at her sudden burst of emotions, and he left just as she'd wanted. Closing the door quietly behind him. All alone now, she burst into tears. He just ruined her life. What did he think was going to happen now that she was in the hospital? No one was going to come for her. Her friends had abandoned her a while ago, no siblings, no parents, and just... "f**k him," she cursed. "f**k him!" God, he was a piece of s**t! "Glow!" Her eyes snapped open as she sat up, then groaned in pain. She was looking at the woman who just bursted into the room. A chubby and petite woman who seemed to be in a hurry, rushed to give her a tight hug. "Hilda," she whispered in recognition. She was an estranged cousin of hers, and she was here?! What was she doing here? Hilda was in all black and she'd finally let go of her, smiling. "I came as soon as I heard what happened." Hilda wasn't in her emergency contacts - she didn't even have one. And she barely mentioned her family when it came to anything. Anything. "Are you okay?" Hilda asked. "Don't answer that, that's a dumb question." Glow sighed. "What exactly are you doing here? And who called you?" Hilda blinked in surprise at her question. "Nduka's my friend. He's the one who saved you, if you can remember." Glow felt a flash of anger as she remembered him. "I hate him and I don't want to ever see him again." Hilda appeared to be shocked. "But he saved–" "I didn't ask him to," Glow said calmly. She was boiling, but for some reason didn't want to show it to Hilda. Why did she care about how she felt anyway? They were basically strangers. "I'm still confused as to why you're here, Hilda. I don't think we're close enough for you to be worried about me, even for a bit." Hilda's eyes were drawn down. "Well, you don't seem to have anyone else around so I assumed you wouldn't mind all that much." Glow really didn't like being reminded that she had no one around her that cared, but she didn't show it. "I- I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable though." She didn't even have the strength to shout at her. The lady didn't do anything wrong. "I heard what happened at your parents' place," Hilda began. "About–" "I'd rather not talk about that, please. I'd rather you just leave me be, honestly." Glow sighed as she tried to close her eyes, attempting to get back to sleep. "You wasted your time coming here, Hilda. Because at the moment, I want nothing more than to die in my sleep than face life's cruelty." Unfortunately for her, she wasn't given a choice, because Hilda declared herself as her family member and a guardian to the doctor who visited her, and wanted to take her to her place whenever she was being discharged. It was still kind of sad that no one came for her, or called. But Hilda seemed to care. Why would she refuse her when she was in need?
