CHAPTER 1 continuation

266 Words
As Emily stood there, trying to process what had just happened, she felt a sense of disappointment wash over her. Why had he smiled and then just walked away? Didn't he feel the same connection that she did? She shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs. What was she thinking? She didn't even know the guy's name, and yet she was already reading too much into their brief encounter. But as she turned to walk away, Emily couldn't shake the feeling that her life had just changed in some profound way. She felt a sense of excitement and anticipation that she hadn't felt in years. As she disappeared into the crowd, Emily couldn't help but wonder if she would ever see the stranger again. And as she walked, she felt a strange sense of hope that she couldn't quite explain. The city lights blurred together as Emily walked, lost in thought. She didn't notice the people passing by, or the cars honking in the distance. All she could think about was the stranger, and the way he had made her feel. And then, just as she was turning the corner onto her street, Emily heard a faint whisper in her ear. "I'll find you," it said. Emily spun around, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the buildings and the pavement. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that the stranger might be more than just a chance encounter. He might be the one person who could change her life forever.
