"No!" I sob weakly, insides churning as I think of my mate. "I won't-- let this happen." I whisper feebly. I manage a few more metres, collapsing with another sob. The pain is unbearable. I just want it to stop. "Dante!" I scream in desperation, begging to see him one last time. "Dante!" My shrill tone echoes across the darkened fields. Who cares if I get the attention of every rogue in the vicinity; I won't live to see them finish me off. "Dante...I lo--" My defeated tone is cut off, a familiar snarl ripping through the area. Lifting my head weakly, I spot an ice-white blur, emerging rapidly towards me. Blinking frantically, I lock eyes with a pair of familiar, green irises. "Lightning?" I whisper in disbelief.
