Anya POV
"Remove all guests from my floor; I will not be doing any business today," I demand through a mind link to my Beta Shayla. She is my second in command. Betas are some of the strongest, most strategic warriors in the wolf pack, second only to their Alpha.
"As you wish, my Queen," Shayla responds quietly.
I can tell from her formalness she knows what happened already. I'm sure the entire country has heard by now. I AM Anya Negra; anything to do with this name spreads fast.
The driver stops and opens my door quickly, his head bowed with a determination to keep his eyes glued to the ground. Yes, they all know. I step out of the car to stand and take in my compound. A castle sits in front of me. It reminds me of the Disney castle princesses who go to live with their Prince Charming. Well, this isn't a fairy tale, and it certainly isn't the happy ending all of us wish for. I nod my head, mostly at myself, and take my first step towards the doors already open to receive me.
I rush to the elevator that's past my front reception area. My subjects bow with eyes driving into the ground as I walk past them. They simply mutter "My queen" in acknowledgment and remain silent. Perfect, I'm not in the mood to speak to anyone. When I reach the top floor, I stop to listen, silence. Good, Shayla ensured all guests had been removed from my floor. I walk into my room, the size of my old house from my previous life. I huff a breath, kick off my heels, shower, and change into a soft grey tank top and shorts. I needed to relax and get my thoughts together. I sat on the edge of the grand canopy bed.
"What do I do now?" I whisper to myself. I wrap my arms around myself and finally feel the full impact of what's happened. My skin starts to prickle with anxiety out of nowhere…
"Something was off about him anyway…." I turned my head around to see who had said that. I sniff the air...I don't smell another being in here. What the f**k?
"Maybe it's for the best. I don't like the b***h he was with, gyrating all on our man.."
I bolt up. "Who is that? "I demand.
"Oh right, I'm Chi... Your wolf and lycan" WTF? I already have a wolf; what does she mean, lycan? I take a deep breath and close my eyes. I center myself, breathe through my nose, close my eyes, and breathe out my mouth. I travel to my mind's eye and see TWO wolves lying together on a grassy surface in a bright and sunny world surrounded by baby blue and light purple skies.
Although we can't technically see our wolves with our own eyes, we can go into our mind's eye and see them there. I've always had the unique ability to see Athena in this mental realm. I could play, pet, and hug her there; hell, I've even fallen asleep with her to escape from the horrors I would face in my past life. The issue now is that no one has two wolves; I've never heard of it. Fear creeps into my spine for not only myself but Athena. How are there two wolves in me?
"Athena? Are you okay?" I examine my wolf worriedly
Athena raises her pure white head, and her dangerously sharp white canines glisten. "Yes." She growls. Her voice always comes out sounding like growls in this realm.
"Hey, you!.. Who are you!?" I yell at the pure black wolf lying next to her...
The black wolf lifts her head to me, stands, and languidly begins to shift into something ginormous. She stands almost 7ft tall; pure muscle ripples throughout her body, yet she is undoubtedly female. The creature is covered in a light amount of jet-black fur; her small breast can be seen beneath the small amount of fur. Her muscular legs angle down into great clawed paws that she stands on, full of power. Her thick black hair hangs around her almost human-like face in long waves; the humanoid face oddly resembles me except for the short muzzle full of razor-like deadly canine. She is a beautiful nightmare, fierce and confident. Her deep purple crescent moon on the center of her forehead beams as her eyes glow a deep purple, just like Athenas. She's a Lycan!
Lycans can transform from a wolf to a more powerful, dangerous version of a wolf. They can stand upright on their hind paws, have more strength than wolves, and have more magical powers. Every Lycan has a wolf, but every wolf does not have a lycan.
I gasp at the lycans glowing familiar eyes… "Who are you" I whisper...
The Lycan gives what could be perceived as a smirk… "I already told you, I'm Chi…." Her voice sounds like mine but deeper with the edge of a growl. Her voice purrs through me, electrifying.
"Okay…Chi... How did you get inside me?"
Chi takes a slow step toward me, her sizeable hind paw imprints on the moist black soil. A gust of wind blows her long black hair around her; the Aura around her is robust and full of strength. Athena stands as well. I thought Athena would attack the Lycan for a moment, but she just stood there. Athena is also a formidable werewolf Lycan. She is almost six ft tall with fluffy soft white hair and a purple crescent moon between her Purple amethyst glowing eyes. Her black claws are so long they curve down into the soil when she stands. I always kept her hidden in my past life; I only shifted once when I was an Omega, and after, my Mother never allowed me again. She said my life depended on no one finding out about Athena but never told me why… Oddly enough, I feel no fear towards Chi. Almost like …
"I'm a part of you," she remarks before I finish my thought.
"But now.." I whisper out.
"I think the time has come for you to meet…her.." She gives an eerie smile.
"Who is her!?" I question fearfully
Suddenly everything goes dark, and a heaviness consumes me, causing me to drop softly to the ethereal ground.
"My beautiful child….Wake!" A deep voice demands
I snap my eyes open to an abundance of white, so white my eyes have to adjust before I can stop seeing spots. I'm lying on an all-white bed. I turn my head to the left and see more white; I turn my head to the right and more of the same…white. I inhale, and a scent I'm not familiar with surrounds me. Honeysuckles?..
"What the hell is going on?" I sit up and come face to face with a woman sitting in an all Gold chair in front of the bed. The chair is metallic gold with jagged clear Crystals poking through the four legs, arms, and headrest; it's some sort of throne.
The woman sits on the chair, staring intently at me. She has a midnight complexion, possibly the darkest I've ever seen. Her thick black hair hangs in huge waves over the arm of the chair to her feet. She has full brown lips, a broad nose, and angled eyes; her chiseled cheekbones lead to a pointed chin. Her long body is curvy and soft, wearing a black flowy gown made of thin tulle, almost see-through.
She’s like some type of African model; she would easily be voted the most beautiful woman in the world…like every year. I scan my eyes to the top of her head; she is wearing a thin gold crown made of…what is that?
"Moon rocks my child"… She can hear my thoughts?
"Yes, of course, I can."
I shake my head and think, okay, what the heavens have I done wrong now.
"You've done nothing wrong, Anya. In fact, you've done everything right. That's why you are here."
"How do you know my name?"
"I know all things, my child."
The realization hits me. Oh, my Goddess! Is she the Moon Goddess?
The woman smiles in confirmation. An incredible warmth envelops me; it starts at my toes and climbs up my body. By the time it reaches the top of my head, tears are spilling from my eyes. I feel peace for the first time in any life I've lived.
The Moon Goddess slowly stands; she glides toward me on the bed. She sits on the edge next to me, staring into my eyes. She brings her hand to my face to move a stray strand of hair out of the way.
"Anya, you've been through quite a bit; it is now time I show you a story. A story of your birth, death, rebirth, and most importantly, your purpose."
