Chapter 14: A Wedding Gift

674 Words
Avilee POV: I stared at us in the floor length mirror. It’s hard to believe that in a few short hours we are abandoning this glamorous lifestyle for a mysterious and uncertain adventure, which I am sure will not include lavish gowns and luxurious parties. While I was finishing my hair and makeup Jasmine had slipped out with my backpack to stash it for later. I still had no idea what exactly was happening aside from a foreboding feeling that we might be leaving the castle and everything we have come to love forever. When she returned we dressed in silence, fear and excitement hung in the air.  Finally it was me who broke the silence, “Jasmine!” I gushed with a gasp, “You look absolutely stunning.”  Jasmine wore a delicious, delicate, Champagne pink gown.It was covered in small crystals which were hand sewn and sprinkled across the dress to make it twinkle in the moonlight. The dress has a plunging neckline and diamond strips hanging across the backless cut. The fabric draped flawlessly across Jasmine’s athletic body and the shade complimented her pink eyes perfectly.  “It is a beautiful dress, I feel like a princess, that’s for sure,” Jasmine whispered back in awe. “Look at you though Avilee, you look like a future Queen in that dress. Sebastian doesn’t deserve to stand next to you in that,” She added angrily.  I turned to admire myself and had to agree with Jasmine. Sebastian didn’t deserve to have me on his arm tonight. This dress was something even beyond my imagination. The material was soft and silky. It clung to my chest with a deep v-shape. It accentuated my curvy chest outlining the roundness of my br**sts. There was a long slit up my left leg and the material trailed off in a small train. Across the hips the dress was slit several times and strings of creamy white pearls were sewn in highlighting the tan skin that peeked through. The dress was a deep purple which complimented my eyes perfectly.  I smiled as I stood there admiring myself, “I wish the love of my life could see me in this dress.” I sulked.  Jasmine turned and linked her arm through mine. Smiling at me she replied, “Then we will have to just take it with us won't we.” I turned to her slightly shocked by her boldness and agreed, “Yes, we will take it with us, but for now let’s just worry about why my father wants us to meet him in the sitting room before we leave.” Jasmine just laughed as we left my room and walked across the house to the sitting room. I cleared my throat as I stepped in the room before exclaiming, “Father, you wanted to see me?” “Well, aren't you two stunning,” he remarked. “I actually have a small gift for you Avilee,” he said while he fumbled in his pocket. He pulled out a deer skin bag and removed a gorgeous pearl necklace from it.  “An early wedding present I guess. A gift from your mother and I,” he said lovingly, “well turn around and let me put it on.  He gently fastened the necklace around my neck before leading me to look at it in the mirror above the fireplace. The necklace was beautiful. Who could have imagined a moonstone would compliment pearls so well.  “It’s perfect,” I exhaled my eyes welling up with tears.  With that he wrapped me in a giant bear hug. When he finally let me go he wrapped my arm in his and said with a precarious wink, “Shall I escort you to the rehearsal dinner, your majesty?”  “Of course,” I replied, touched by the small gesture. With that we stepped out the door and walked towards the grand ballroom where the dinner was being held. Jasmine and my mother followed behind us.
