Georgie I kicked the rocks that were on the carpark cement while I waited for Mum. It felt like ages. I would usually check my phone and scroll absentmindedly through social media but my phone died pretty much just as I hung up from Mum, so that ruled that option out. Each second, the sun set and the sky got darker. The red sunset changes the colours of the buildings, cars and trees around me. The bright lights from Mum's car shined in my eyes as she turned into the restaurant parking lot. I stood up to walk to the passenger side door as Mum wound it down. “Where is Derek?” She asked, looking around the empty carpark. “He left…” I muttered and shrugged my shoulders as my hand pulled on the door handle. “He just left you alone in an empty carpark at night?” Mum gritted. I nodded.
