Theo Georgie was locked to my side all night. I traced my hand on her back absentmindedly as we listened to the conversations going on around us. Occasionally, Georgie or I would add something to the discussion then return to our position listening on the outside. “How are you going?” I whispered in her ear. “I’m alright. A bit hungry…” Georgie shrugged. “Wait here.” I instructed, before running towards the drinks table. I saw a shopping bag underneath the table earlier. I was hoping that once everyone started drinking, they had forgotten about the bags of chips someone bought and hid under the table. Georgie chatted to Sierra happily, keeping her eye on me as I walked to the table and pulled the bag out from underneath. Sure enough, inside was a bag of plain chips and Doritos. I
