Theo Mum had remained pretty quiet for the afternoon. Jenny and I had a snack before I went back to my office to get some more stuff done. Mum barely said a word. I wanted to ask if she knew Alpha Angus had ambushed me but, judging by her silence and avoidance, I expected she did. I was stuck between wanting to confront her about it and not wanting to make it more uncomfortable than it already is. I tapped my pen on the desktop absentmindedly while staring at the timetable in front of me. I wasn’t taking any of the information on the timetable in, my mind was a million other places. My phone vibrated on the desk. I glanced at it. Photo sent from Georgie? That’s a first. I opened it and noticed it looked like a page from a book. I began to read the text she had clearly zoomed in on.
