Logan’s POV
"So, I've been thinking." I scratched my head while standing watch for Jon. He was working on hot wiring a fancy little speed boat. It normally wouldn't be that big of an issue, except we are in a very rich part of town stealing a very expensive boat from very important people.
"Uh oh," Jon looked at me. "That's never good." He laughed.
I laughed with him, knowing he was only joking. "Eh piss off." I joked back, "but seriously. What if we came up with like a plan underneath our plan with the girls."
"What are you getting at?" He stood straight, I had his full attention.
"I mean, you know the Queen, better than anyone." I said. "You know there's probably 60 or so guards up there, what if we pretend to be overwhelmed. Trick her by making her think she's tricking us."
He rubbed his chin. "So you're thinking, make tomorrow just a big spoof? Fake attack her ship?"
"Yeah kind of." I pondered, I knew tomorrow would be overwhelming, we could get some sort of upper hand with the Queen if we fake attacked and made her expect something bigger. "I don't know how, but we need to make her expect something huge, and deliver something in a small," I motioned with my hands, "itsy bitsy package."
"I like what you're thinking..." Jon went back to work on the boat, then suddenly sat up. "I got it!" He exclaimed.
I turned to him, "What's the plan, boss man?"
"Fake capture." Jon started, "what if one of us stays behind on the boat? She won't kill us unless we're all there and it's some sort of big public spectacle. She thrives on the attention. So what if one of us stays behind, she will expect some huge rescue attempt, but we can sneak back on up the front of the ship at night,, rescue whichever one of us stays behind, off the Queen in her sleep, and then boom. Be done."
I smiled. "I like the way you think."
"Awe you're so sweet." Jon chuckled and touched two wires together. The boat fired up. "We're golden."
I jumped on board and Jon sped off into the ocean.
"So who's going to stay on board the Queen’s ship?" He looked back at me. "I could do it." He offered.
I shook my head, no he needs to stay back with Charlie and make a good solid plan. "No I'll do it. You stay with the girls and come up with an actual solid plan to rescue."
He was quiet for a minute, then looked me in the eyes, "how are we going to tell Charlie that you're pretty much sacrificing yourself?"
I thought about it, she's stubborn. "She won't leave the boat if I stay behind."
"So, I'll make sure to pull her over the edge in front of you. She won't realize you're not there until its too late."
I nodded, "we can't tell her about this then." I hate feeling like I'm lying to her, but it's the only way she will go through with this plan.
"That's up to you. She's not my girlfriend." Jon turned back and focused on driving. We only have a couple hours till dark and needed to get back.
I wasn't going to tell her our plan, but tonight I would make sure she knows just how much I love her. Incase things don't go right. After all, I'm about to hand myself over to the lady we've been trying to kill for years now.
