Kantos and the council were all seated at the council tables of the council hall.
Kantos's who had taken the Alpha seat, spinning lies after Angela’s murder during the Red Moon Disaster,, stood at the center of the council chamber, his voice resonated through the council hall, each word cutting through the tense air like a sharp blade. "The Ex Alpha made us look weak and vulnerable," he declared, his gaze piercing the faces of the council, each one waiting to hear his next words.
His ordinances hung in the air, a proclamation of strength and authority. As he addressed the council members .
"We need a leader like me," Kantos continued, his tone steady and unwavering. "One who doesn't wait and sit for the enemy to make a move first all in the name of peace with the monsters."
Whispers of agreement rippled through the room, some nodding in silent approval.
His eyes met the council members, and a sly smile crept across his face. He continued with conviction in his voice.
We are the Apex predators. Pointing at Linda “The Ex-Alpha" her mother felt she could make peace with the vampires, the monsters in the shadows but deep down, we all knew it shouldn't be so, we all knew that was the beginning of a weakness. We all had the thought of wiping their entire clan and freeing this world of their grasps."
The council members exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to respond.
The weight of Kantos's words settled in the hall, a shared understanding that reverberated among the council. "That's why you need my leadership," he asserted, his confidence palpable. "That's why I should be the Alpha."
A smug smirk played on Kantos's lips as he observed the reactions of the council members. Facing them he said" Anyone who goes against me shall lose their head!" The declaration hung in the air, a stark reminder of the ruthlessness he was willing to employ.
One voice broke through the tension. It was David, a loyal follower of Kantos and also a council member, He spoke with admiration in his eyes, voicing support for Kantos. "He's right; we all need a fierce, strong and fearless leader." His smile seemed to align with Kantos's vision, a shared anticipation for change. ‘Kantos smiled and nodded in satisfaction’. Breaking the silence.
Kantos stood up, looked at the faces of the council members and smiled in satisfaction. ‘’It’s truly a great honor to be the Leader of the southside park—- I’d love and be grateful to get everyone’s guidance, because with your guidance we’d build a strong, fearsome pack and a world free from the monsters.
Kantos then turned facing Linda who was seated beside his sister Diana. ‘’I’d be taking in the child of the once weak Alpha and see to it she becomes my hand maid as a punishment of her mother weak decision for peace with the monsters’’
Diana, who has been silent until now, clutched Linda's hand tightly, she felt a knot form in her stomach as she was shocked by her brother's audacious stance. She stepped forward, her voice trembling with emotion facing Kantos with desperation. "Kantos, please don't take her. Please let me keep her and raise her." She pleaded to her brother.
An intense fury flashed in Kantos's eyes as he turned to face Diana. He grabbed Linda forcefully, tearing her away from his sister's grasp. Linda's tears flowed freely as she cried out for Diana. Kantos paid no heed to her sorrow, his gaze fixed on the council members.
Walking out the hall with Linda in his firm grip, on getting to the hall entrance he paused for a minute and then turned back to the council. "Or is there anyone who opposes me as the Alpha?" Kantos challenged, his voice dripping with authority. Silence lingered before he declared, "If there's none, it's settled then. Next should be my coronation as the Alpha of the pack."
The hall echoed with a collective agreement, a silent acknowledgment of Kantos's ascendancy as no one dared to speak out against him, and with a final nod of satisfaction, he left the council, dragging Linda with him, her tear-streaked face a testament to the turmoil within. As they walked out, Kantos addressed the council once more, "Behold The era of a new Alpha and regime begins." Kantos stormed out of the council chamber, leaving behind a room filled with tension and uncertainty.
Getting to his home with Linda, Kantos locked her up in a room, the sound of the door closing echoing through the silence together with the ominous click of the door sealing her fate echoing in the silence. Linda's sobs filled the air, a symphony of despair that accompanied Kantos's ruthless pursuit of power. He stood outside the door, his arms crossed over his chest together with a smile on his face and a sense of victory swelling within him.
“This is where you belong now,” Kantos spoke to the closed door, his voice cold and final. “You will learn to obey me, to understand that I am the Alpha now. And if you try to defy me, there will be great consequences.”
Inside the room, Linda curled up on the floor, tears streaming down her face as she realized the true extent of her captivity. She had been taken from her family, from everything she knew, and now she was at the mercy of a ruthless leader who had no qualms about using force to maintain his power.
As the darkness settled over the room, a sense of dread crept into Linda's heart, knowing that her life would never be the same again under Kantos's rule.
The scene unfolded like a dark chapter in the pack's history, the power dynamics shifting under Kantos's bold leadership. As the door closed behind him, Linda's cries became muffled, and the council members exchanged uneasy glances, wondering how the reign and regime of the new Alpha would reshape their lives and the destiny of the pack.
The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the pack's territory. Within the confines of the room, Linda's tear-stained face reflected the anguish of uncertainty. The walls seemed to close in as she grappled with the sudden upheaval brought upon by Kantos's assertive ascent to power.
Outside, the council members dispersed, carrying with them the weight of the decisions and declaration made. David, conflicted but compliant, exchanged glances with Diana, who remained haunted by the plea Kantos refused to fulfill for her.
Kantos, undeterred by the emotional turbulence, prepared for his coronation, a ceremony that would solidify his dominion in the pack. The pack awaited the dawn with a mix of anticipation and trepidation, unsure of what changes their new Alpha would usher in.
As the night unfolded, whispers circulated among the pack members, questioning the validity of Kantos's methods and the cost of his leadership. Some harbored reservations, while others were swayed by the promise of strength, survival and dominance.
In the locked room, Linda's thoughts raced. The air was heavy with the scent of uncertainty, and her determination flickered like a fragile flame. Despite her confinement, a quiet resolve ignited within her. She would not yield to despair; instead, she vowed to endure and find a way to navigate the tumultuous waters that lay ahead of her.
The Next Day…….
The forest was quiet, but Diana’s mind was a storm.
She stood on the ceremonial altar together with the council, her cloak drawn tight around her frame. The flames in the ritual pyres flickered with a life of their own, casting monstrous shadows across the trees.
But Diana’s throat tightened as she was worried She had failed Angela Gomez, their former Alpha and wouldn't want to fail in protecting her Daughter Linda.
The pack had gathered for Kantos's coronation, in the clearing at the heart of the packlands, a space known for its significance in marking important events within the pack. Birds singing as the early morning sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a golden hue over the assembled wolves.
Kantos stood at the forefront, the self-proclaimed Alpha, adored with symbols of authority, his fur sleek and dark against the backdrop of the forest. His eyes shone with a fierce determination as he addressed the assembly with a confidence that resonated through the packlands. They howled in unison, loyal, fearfully so. "Today marks a new beginning for our pack," Kantos began, his voice strong and commanding. "The era of indecision, hesitation and weakness has passed.” He declared loudly, eyes scanning the crowd. "Under my rule, we will rise to unparalleled strength. No longer shall we be at the mercy of others, especially the vampires. We must stand united, strong, and unwavering in the face of our enemies. The vampires have shown their true colors, and it is clear that peace is not an option. We must declare our dominance and rid ourselves of the threat they pose once and for all."
The pack listened intently, some nodding in agreement while others glanced at one another uncertainly. Kantos continued, we are the apex predator and should as such be feared by the monsters of the shadows, his words painting a vivid picture of a future where the pack would no longer be seen as weak or vulnerable. He spoke of power, strength, and the need to secure their place as the dominant force in the region.
A voice then raised among the crowds in praise ‘’Kantos! Kantos!!. The crowds then all followed in unity calling out his name in praise while raising their hands into the hear in unity
Kantos!
Kantos!
Kantos!
Kantos!
Kantos!
As the coronation ceremony progressed, the absence of Linda, the young she-wolf who had been taken by Kantos the previous day, did not go unnoticed. Whispers of concern began to spread among some of the pack members, a sense of unease settling over the gathering. Diana, her eyes clouded with worry, scanned the crowd for any sign of Linda. "Where is Linda?" she whispered to David, who stood beside her. David's turning to her with a big smile on his face as he too realized that the young she-wolf was nowhere to be seen.
"I do not know," he replied quietly, as his gaze flashes intermittently towards Kantos, who stood at the center of the gathering, basking in the attention of his fellow wolves. Diana's heart clenched with fear as she remembered Kantos's words the day before, his cold determination to assert his dominance over the pack.
As the coronation ceremony drew to an end, some of the pack members who are loyal to the Ex-Alpha exchanged worried glances, the absence of Linda weighing heavily on their minds. Kantos, unaware of the growing unease among his pack members, raised his head high, a self-satisfied smile playing on his lips. Little did he know that his actions had set in motion a chain of events that would challenge his authority and threaten the very bond of the pack. And in the shadows, a lone figure moved with purpose, determined to uncover the truth behind Linda's disappearance and protect her from the impending storm that loomed on the horizon.
