C002 Kairo No Kyandoru

1987 Words
"Thank you so much for your kind support, Masters. At least we could make progress in this business." the proprietor led us to the main door and bowed deeply after he had made a mental note of where he would be sending the raw materials once he had gotten someone to wheel the goods over. We thanked the proprietor of the chandlery and headed to the pottery where we found several small pieces of pottery pieces that were meant for decoration. They were either made from dried clay of certain dryness and fired in the furnace at various temperatures. Some were glazed, some are plain like our Hae Shanpu bottles while some are like porcelain ware and fine wares. I chose the plain light grey bottles, thin and light and able to hold about 50 ccs of wax with a height of 5 cm from the base to near the brim of the pottery piece. As we were discussing among ourselves, the potter approached us and we asked him how much would the porcelain ware that we were holding costs. "Dear Masters, if you wanted these pottery pieces, it would not really cost that much since it was made using basic clay and being fired in the furnace until it was bisque dry. Furthermore, this is just a small piece and could be churned out by our workers at a regular pace." The potter informed us and we were delighted that the potter was being frank with us. We asked for an imprint of the name "Kairo no kyandoru" and after he checked his production files and the cost, he offered 6 pieces for 1 silver piece which was quite a good deal. "Kid, the price is not too expensive since they would need to make a few moulds so that they can press it on the product before sending them to the furnace to be fired. The mould would either be made by wood or even by some kind of metal." Hiko-sama explained to me and I nodded my head and agreed that the price given would be considered fair. Furthermore, it would be sold back to the consumers in a form of a holder for the candle so it would be alright. We ordered 12,000 pieces and the bill came up to 200 pieces of gold. And its a deal. Since the orders for the clay bottles had been sent, the Potter gladly accepts another project from us. Next, we went to the tailor shop and intended to design a sleeveless vest next. After going through some of the materials, we decided on a light cotton one that was in a bright red colour. I took a short sleeve gi and worked on it as a base design and told the proprietor that we need 2 sizes for ladies and it would medium and large for ages 12 to 18. I decided to draw the design instead and it's a 3 piece of cloth that would be sewn in one piece of a sleeveless vest with a fixed obi around it. There would be yellow trimmings on all sides about 2 inches thick. The name of Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha would be silk-screened behind it and the names of the employees would be on the left breast pocket. There will be 6 vests of yellowish gold-coloured material with red trimmings of 2 inches thick 3 for 14-year-old size and 3 for 18 years old. The name of the company and individual names would be in red and a black obi would be attached to it. We gave all the names and ages and the 6 line leaders that would be wearing the yellowish gold vests. The tailor took down the names and sizes based on their age and informed us of the total price. It would only cost us 1 silver for 2 pairs and we took a receipt prepared by them and informed that it would be paid fully upon delivery. We had the right number of pairs to be made by the tailor and with the receipt in hand, we stepped out of the shop. We thanked the tailor and walked back to our house before stopping at a drug supplies store and bought a dozen of a medicine dropper. I explained to Hiko-sama that this would be used to drop a single Essense into the small ornamental pot before filling up with warm Molten wax. "I would have to ask the former herbalist on which scent would be used to induce sleep, reduce anxiety, create a loving environment, get rid of insects et cetera. We would be able to make at least 6 types of scents." I explained to Hiko-sama and he was excited to find out more about this business and trade. "Hahahaha...I like your idea, kid. It's a fresh idea and people would want to rush and buy it especially the ladies and also can be used as a gift too." "That's right, Sensei. Normally women would burn these in their rooms or baths. When the weather has a lot of flies and mosquitoes, they would burn the candle and it would help them chase the insects away. It's being used in my time and they were called Yankee candles. It's aromatic and a whole lot more expensive though." "Fasuto Japan has yet taken another step ahead and ever-growing!" "That's right, Sensei. We would wait for the decision of our elderly neighbour and we see how it goes. Hope it's within our budget because, after all these purchases, we have about 450-500 gold coins left." Hiko-sama nodded and we went back to the house and rested in the garden. The cooks had prepared steamed banana wrapped in glutinous rice cake with a hint of coconut milk. These were wrapped in banana leaves and everyone had seconds or thirds for their break. We felt its a blessing to hire extra hands for the house as at least we had much more enjoyable meals now. We went into the warehouse and discovered that the caged pallet was ready. The men designed a removable front and side wooden cage so that it would be easily detached in order for us to have more space to load the goods. It was very sturdy and mobile since it was empty and slides easily across the floor as the floor was smooth. I asked a few girls to stand on it and we pushed it across the floor and it slid on the 6 bearing wheels easily. We asked how the new girls were doing on their first day of the job and the line leaders explained that they are coping well under their guidance and supervision. On how to gauge their performance, it would be similar to the workmanship and standards of the original girls before they became line leaders. The same instructions were handed down to the new girls just as I had handed down the instructions for the initial 6 girls before. We thanked the men who designed the enclosed caged crate and pushed it across the warehouse near our ops room. Since we have an hour to burn before dinner, we decided to go back to the house and enter the Realm of Mind and produce another batch of Refined Iron. Whenever we have the time, we would enter and make a batch no matter how much we can make for a duration period of 3 hours in the Realm of Mind so that our own production line is not stagnant. We managed to make close to 2,000 trays of Refined Iron plates or close to 20,000 pieces of Refined Iron plates before returning to the Real-world before dinner time. Since the ambassadors would be spending some time to fix the banners, repaint the locale and set up the furnishings and some ledger book and hire help and train the salesperson, they would be gone for at a few days to set up the locales. Mesen-san came to visit us to inform that he had placed his nephew on the second shift and had 3 men working with him and 3 other men working under his nephew. They had also finished 2 STM and had run dry and wet test and ready to be shipped. I summoned the delivery boys to retrieve the STM and placed them in the warehouse first. Mesen-san projected 2 machines for every 3 days and by the month-end, they would be able to produce 5 machines plus the two that had been ready and one that's currently being used as a demonstration. I told him to send a note over and our delivery boys would come over to pick the items up. I advised him to keep a record of how many machines have been made in order to collect his commission. The delivery boys pushed the handcarts and followed Mesen-san and I told him that the workers' salary would be born by us at 5 silvers a week. Hiko-sama updated his sketchpad and informed me that we had over 50 employees already. YES!!! AT LAST!! The first two STM for display has arrived. By the time the locale had been prepared for operation, it would be sent there while waiting for the confirmation of the orders of the Refined Iron plates on a fortnightly basis. I informed Hiko-sama that we would soon be adding more manpower and may hit a century if we were to build another 3 more production lines for 3 warehouses. Hiko-sama acted as if he was in a confused state and scratched his head and then proceeded to scratch his armpits and body and acted like a monkey. Hahahaha. The 10 barrels of spermaceti arrived and we paid 50 gold coins and Hiko-sama added the costing inside his sketchpad where he would transfer into his ledger for all of the operational costs. This way, for every each month, we would be able to find out how much we had spent in our operational, fixed and variable costs. Even if its free-flowing money, anything for the corporate needs to be accounted for, just for records purposes only. We made a forecast of 24,000 Refined Iron plates every 2 weeks at an income of 235,000 gold coins and by 5 months we would have an accumulated wealth of 1,000,000 gold coins just on the sales of Refined Iron plates alone. We have not heard on the business district on their intention of exporting the plates for us outside Fukushima Prefecture and by that time, it would be an added income for us even if it is at a discount of 10% to pay the export taxes. By next day, the ambassadors would be leaving for Aizuwakamatsu then followed by Yonezawa and Shibata for the refurbishment of the locale. At the same time, they would confirm the orders for the Refined Iron plates and would compile the orders and deliver either the Refine iron plates or the readied stocks for the cosmetics department. We have to think of a way which would be more productive for the delivery of such goods and decided to guess how much a horse would be able to pull the wagon load. So off we went as we decided to visit the stable boys and asked them about it and at the same time to check-in Kayu-San and see how much junk he had that need to be disposed of. Then we would drop by Mesen-san's shop and inquire on how he would designate a display area for the STM and at the same time have a working space for his workshop to accommodate the workers that would be working there in the initial phase. The next few days till the end of the month, all the events had passed without any glitches except for the loss of a chicken that wandered off into the neighbouring house and was being assassinated in the kitchenette. We don't have to worry about it and we just let the matters rest and we defaulted the chicken instead. We won't be bothered with such trivial matters at all.
