Amber led Ebony and Anna into the carriage immediately behind the one allocated to them. She moved quickly along the narrow aisle running down the centre of the carriage, followed closely by Ebony and Anna.
Everyone allocated to this particular carriage seemed to be too preoccupied with their own personal thoughts to pay the three young ladies passing through anything more than perfunctory notice. They were, by all appearances, just three more happy passengers enjoying the adventure of a lifetime.
Occasionally as they made their way through the carriage, their progress was slowed as they encountered other passengers standing in the aisle, preparing to move to the Red Gum lounge car to partake of pre-dinner drinks.
