Amber found her companions among the crowd in the Matilda Cafe. Ebony and Anna were sitting apart from each other, like strangers. She pushed through the crowd, stopped next to Anna, leaned in close and spoke softly.
“Go all the way through to the back of the train until you can’t go any further. Make sure no one is watching and go out the rear door of the last passenger carriage. The next car is the baggage car. It’s not locked. Go inside, shut the door behind you and wait for Ebony and me. Take only your purse. Go now!”
