We’ve been waiting for so long

Rhea I pry my crusty eyes open, they feel heavier than lead. It feels as though I’ve been asleep for so long, in a state of unawareness and darkness that my body doesn’t want to leave that state just yet. But I don’t know why I feel so horrible. I try to move my body, but every part of it feels so heavy that I’m forced to lie back and relax. I take in and take out deep breaths, as I try to understand what’s going on with me. I’m still clueless, when the smell of disinfectant and bleach and something else I can’t quite place my finger on reaches my nostrils. That’s what makes me realize for the first time, that this isn’t my room, nor is it like any room I've been in within the past month — and I know I've been in several of them.
