I stare at the cryptic note, my mind racing.
The words "the missing page holds your key" replays over and over in my head. Who sent this message, and how do they know about the missing page?
It makes me wonder if Eric is involved, or if there's someone else in the coven who’s watching me without me knowing.
These thoughts are only distracted when Aiden suddenly stirs and begins to cry. I go to carry him from his cot and do all I can to pacify him until he drifts back to sleep, and the thoughts return again in the darkness as I hold my son close, his head resting on my shoulder. I make a resolve to get to the root of whatever it is before slipping the note under my pillow.
I also have to uncover the truth about the missing page, and I think I know exactly where to start.
