Sitting calmly in my seat with Kate beside me, clinging onto me at every given opportunity with those bewitching smiles of hers which I found repulsive but could only endure, my face remained calm and composed as if I had nothing to worry about. To the people around me, I probably looked relaxed, just another spectator watching the trial unfold, but inside me was war.
After the earlier fallout with Argon, my wolf had gone silent and completely ignored me, but I knew he was still paying attention to the trial, only giving me the cold shoulder out of annoyance.
This trial and this election meant a lot to both of us, and he knew how important it was to all our plans. Although we had different views when it came to Olivia, our mate, I still thought he was overreacting.
