Ella's POV As I watched Artemis take confident strides towards me, I was immediately hit with a sense of deja vu. I was taken back to the night I had first met him, Tom and I's family dinner just before our wedding. Artemis had walked into our house this way, radiating off confidence as if he owned the place. His face was held in a blank expression throughout the night. I was intrigued by him, wanting to know what he thought of me as I caught him a few times stealing glances at me that night. Tom and Artemis never got along well, so he ended up leaving early that night. Artemis came to a stop in front of me, he was too close for my comfort. I took a step back, my annoyance peaking. What exactly was he doing here? Taking a quick look towards the driveway, Lisa had gotten out of her car and was now watching us with amusement. I looked back at Artemis, just in time to see him checking me out. His eyes roamed my body, and in response, as if my body had a mind of its own, wherever he looked heated up. He started from where the gray biker shorts stopped at my thighs, his gaze shifting further up to pause at my breasts. I knew why. Lisa and I's boobs were significantly different sizes. Mine were bigger, so they were spilling out of the sports bra. I wondered what was going through his head as he stared so intensely at them “Care to explain what exactly you're doing here?” I said loudly , snapping him out of whatever trance he was in. He laughed What was so funny about this situation? “Aren't you going to invite me in Princess?” “Absolutely not! You have some nerve calling me with an unknown number and now showing up at the apartment uninvited..” Lisa cleared her throat, cutting me off. They exchanged pleasantries and talked as if I wasn't standing there. I stared at them dumbfounded. Why was she engaging him? I thought she despised him Did she bang her head or something before she got here? Lisa opened the door letting Artemis in I scowled What the actual hell was she doing? Grabbing her arm before she walked in, I pulled her to me, shooting daggers at her. “Lisa how could you just let him in after all I had said, he could be a serial killer for god's sake.” “Chill El, you're overreacting” she said, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Without waiting for a response she ran straight to her bedroom, closing the door behind her. Pissed off, I stormed into the living room , not a tad bit surprised to see that Artemis was once again crossing boundaries. In all his glory, he stood in the kitchen, pouring himself a glass of water. Marching towards him, I grabbed the glass just before he could take a sip, walked straight to the sink and flushed the water down the drain. He stared at me weirdly as if I had grown two heads. This made me angrier. I did not know why but everything about this man infuriated me. The way he talked, walked, the way he thought it was so funny to tease me. Him just existing got on my every nerve. Crossing my hands over my chest, I mustered up my best poker face, hardening my voice too. “I'm asking for the last time, what are you doing here and who gave you the right to break into the apartment acting like you own the place” “Well I didn't exactly break in, your friend let me in and as regards to your first question, I'm trying to remember what position I took you in the kitchena.” He stroked the hint of stubble, pretending to think. My mouth hung open, I was speechless. How could he say stuff like that with a straight face? Leave it to Artemis to amaze me every time he opened his mouth. He stepped out of the kitchen and moved around the living room. Taking in its appearance, he hummed in approval. Lisa outdid herself. From the plushy couches scattered round the floor, to the silver silk drapes that complimented the color of her walls well. I was still processing all Artemis had said in the past minutes. I felt a pang in my chest, a bit upset that what he said had little effect on him while I could feel the pool of wetness slowly growing between my legs. Too deep in thought, I didn't notice him move towards me until I was caged between him and the counter, his hands resting at either side of me. “Ella” he called me , his voice strained. I looked up at him , my focus zeroed on his pink lips, so plump and inviting. “Why did you not resume work today? My day was hectic without you” he whispered, his breath falling onto my lips, causing it to tingle. He was teasing me again, my face turned deep shades of red. Fighting the urge to kiss him, I placed my palms flat on his chest and pushed with all my might. “I'm not interested in working as your assistant anymore so please leave now” I said avoiding eye contact. To make it more convincing, I told him that I had found a new job with a better pay than his. He did not look convinced, instead he shook his head at me. “Get your ass at work tomorrow or I'll find a replacement” That was exactly what I wanted, or at least I hoped I wanted, to have no connections with him. We had gotten to the front door, I held it open for him as he walked out. Before I could shut it, he turned around saying “ I would not give you the satisfaction of backing out so expect to see me more often till you say yes” with that he turned back and walked to his car. I shut the door and walked to the window, watching him exit the driveway and speed off. Sigh What am I going to do now?
