Ella’s POV
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that there was nothing beneath me. I’ve read enough books to know that was an odd experience to have especially if you’d been with someone the night before. I slowly cracked my eyes open to check if my hands were deceiving me and…nope, they were not. Artemis wasn’t in bed with me.
I stood up from where the bed, yawning as I did so. The sheets beneath me were ruffled, as they should. Last night had been crazy. Artemis was a better lover than I had imagined he would be. No surprises there though. Our first encounter had been drunken but I could tell my body had definitely been touched. But it was rather disheartening to have woken up not being able to see what I’d had to myself all night.
