Ella’s POV
I tried composing myself in the elevator, I fixed my hair, and my clothes which were rumpled from the force the attacker used to pin me down. I aimed to look as normal as I could be when I walked into the office.
After the attack, I debated calling Artemis but I later decided against it. I thought it was best that I kept this to myself especially after the threat, maybe pushing Tom's buttons wasn't exactly the best of ideas.
If he was already sending someone to try to silence me when I hadn't even spoken , I wondered what lengths he would take if I did eventually speak. I shivered at the thought, I did not want to find out.
At the reception, I noticed that my key card was gone.
